Here's what MXR says about the MXR M239 Iso Brick Mini Pedal Power Supply:
The Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply supplies quiet, noise-free DC power to wide range of pedal types while taking up less space than a candy bar. Whether you need a space-saving solution for your downsized travel board or you just need to power a small, carefully curated selection of tried-and-true staples, this little box has what you need.
First, let’s talk outputs. The Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply has five, and each is fully isolated to eliminate obnoxious, gig-ending ground loop noise. Four of the outputs supply 9 volts of power at 300mA, while a fifth can be set to provide either 9 volts or 18 volts at 800mA depending on your needs. With a generous amount of current on tap and the ability to handle both negative and positive grounds, these outputs will accommodate almost any pedal, analog or digital.
And don’t let the five outputs restrict you—if you need to add an extra pedal, the Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply has you covered. It comes with a splitter cable that can be used to connect two pedals to a single output, provided they require the same voltage and you don’t exceed the output’s current rating. You can do this with all of the outputs simultaneously—just purchase the extra cables to do so.
Finally, troubleshooting can be a hassle on dark stages, so the Mini Iso-Brick Power Supply comes equipped with LEDs to let you know that all your connections are solid. Combine that with a lightweight housing that's built like a tank, and you can step on stage with confidence that your pedalboard will stay powered from gig to gig.

A brick pedal, often referred to as a “brick” power supply, is a robust, compact, and reliable power source designed to provide consistent power to multiple guitar pedals. These power supplies are essential for musicians who use several pedals in their setup, as they ensure that each pedal receives the necessary voltage without risk of interference or power instability.
The name “brick” comes from the shape and size, which is typically large and boxy, much like a brick. These power supplies often feature multiple isolated outputs, preventing hum and noise from leaking between pedals, and can supply various voltages (such as 9V, 12V, or 18V) to accommodate different pedal requirements. Popular brands like Voodoo Lab and Truetone make high-quality brick power supplies that are built to withstand the rigours of live performances and provide reliable performance.

A mini pedal is a compact version of a standard guitar effect pedal, designed to save space on a pedalboard without sacrificing tone. Mini pedals are ideal for guitarists who need a portable setup or want to fit more effects into a limited space. Despite their small size, many mini pedals offer the same high-quality sound as their full-sized counterparts, though they may have fewer controls or lack battery power options. Popular mini pedals include the TC Electronic Hall of Fame Mini (Reverb), Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini (Overdrive), and Xotic EP Booster (Boost), making them a great choice for efficient pedalboard setups.
A pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of an electric guitar by applying various effects. Pedals are typically connected in a series between the guitar and amplifier, allowing guitarists to switch effects on and off with their feet while playing.
This enables musicians to quickly and easily change their sound, adding versatility and creativity to their performances.
Pedals are essential tools in many musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and metal, allowing artists to craft distinctive and dynamic soundscapes.
Once you buy one, you can’t stop and then you have to sell them and buy more.
A power supply is an essential component of any pedalboard, providing consistent and reliable power to guitar effect pedals. Pedals typically run on 9V DC, though some require 12V, 18V, or even 24V. Using a dedicated power supply rather than batteries or daisy chains helps prevent noise, hum, and power fluctuations, especially in complex setups. High-quality power supplies offer isolated outputs, ensuring each pedal receives clean power without interference. Popular models like the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power series, Cioks DC7, and Truetone 1 Spot Pro are designed to handle multiple pedals efficiently, making them a crucial part of any professional rig.
