The JHS Pedals Emperor V2 Analog Chorus & Vibrato w/Tap Tempo is an incredibly versatile modulation pedal that goes far beyond what the name suggests. It features a true bucket brigade chipset for authentic analogue tones and combines that with a range of tone shaping potential. The Emperor V2 has 3 wave-types and full tempo control for a multitude of modulation sounds. The tempo is adjusted by dial controls as well as a tap-tempo footswitch control letting you get the exact effect speed you require. The tempo can also be controlled remotely via an expression pedal. The Emperor V2 has a TRS stereo output that lets you adapt the pedal to a stereo rig while the expression pedal input lets you control and sync the tempo externally. Whether you choose to create warm modulation sounds crystal clear and piercing tones or you use an external expression pedal to create realistic rotary speaker sounds on a blues gig the Emperor can do it all.

Chorus Pedals
Chorus mixes the dry signal with one or more short, continuously modulated delays. The small pitch and timing movement between the paths creates width, shimmer and the impression of several instruments playing together. Rate controls the modulation speed, depth controls its excursion, and delay or mix settings determine whether the result is subtle thickening, a liquid wobble or a broad stereo image.
Tags
Analogue
The signal is shaped by continuously varying electronic circuitry rather than being converted into a digital effect algorithm. Component choice, operating voltage and circuit tolerances influence headroom, noise, clipping texture and the small variations in response between designs.
Stereo
Processes, creates or passes two audio channels. True stereo preserves separate left and right inputs, while mono-to-stereo effects generate spatial differences internally; routing, phase behaviour and whether trails remain stereo determine the resulting image. Some outputs sum to mono when only one socket is connected, which can change level or modulation depth.
Tap Tempo
Measures repeated foot taps and converts their interval into an effect rate or delay time. Subdivisions translate that pulse into dotted, triplet or other rhythmic values, while averaging and range limits influence how quickly and accurately the tempo settles.
Vibrato
Modulates pitch above and below the played note without the dry/modulated mixture that creates chorus. Rate, depth, waveform and delay-line character determine whether the motion is a gentle instability, pronounced wobble or tape-like drift.
