Greer Amps are known for providing a range of vintage-inspired pedals with all the perks of modern design and functionality. The Moonshot is no exception, with its Germanium AC128 transistor acting as the foundation for this pedal’s exceptional tone. Preamp pedals aren’t exactly typical, but this pedal can serve as the perfect tool to spruce up your amp and overall tone!

What Does It Do?

Greer Amps’ spin on a classic circuit, the Moonshot takes its inspiration from vintage Germanium preamps from decades ago. Featuring a Germanium AC128 transistor, the Moonshot is essentially an EQ pedal. The treble/mid control lets you increase the top-end in your sound, so that when you’re playing live or in the studio, you can ensure that solos cut through the mix with no problems whatsoever. With this control, you can also boost the lower frequencies so that the lower mids are pushed, and riffs can sound fatter and punchier.

The Master Volume allows you to add gain, ranging from transparent and subtle to a growling overdrive. This versatile pedal therefore serves as not only an EQ, but also as an overdrive/boost. Working well with other pedals too, you can stack the Moonshot with other overdrives to get a thick, layered sound that others will envy!

This pedal is also true bypass, so that you can retain the purity of your original tone when you’re not using the pedal.

Here’s what Greer Amps say about the Moonshot Germanium Pre Pedal:

The Greer Amps Moonshot is our take on a true classic circuit. This pedal is inspired by vintage Germanium preamp circuits of days gone past. Featuring two controls, the Moonshot has a great tonal range, and can provide wonderful texture, when pushing the front end of an amplifier. The Treble/Mid control allows the player to set this pedal as a treble booster, or roll some extra low-end into the circuit, giving more midrange girth and grunt from the Germanium AC-128 transistor. The Master Volume control allows the user to push an amp into snarly overdrive. The Moonshot’s circuit features a voltage inverter, to run the transistor in proper, positive ground mode, while using a standard negative ground power supply.

Pedal

A pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of an electric guitar by applying various effects. Pedals are typically connected in a series between the guitar and amplifier, allowing guitarists to switch effects on and off with their feet while playing.

This enables musicians to quickly and easily change their sound, adding versatility and creativity to their performances.

Pedals are essential tools in many musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and metal, allowing artists to craft distinctive and dynamic soundscapes.

Once you buy one, you can’t stop and then you have to sell them and buy more.
