The Surfybear was an instant hit which started off Surfy Industries due to its all-analogue design. The Surfybear features exactly the same specifications as the famed Fender 6G15 Reverb unit, but the tubes have been replaced with JFET transistor technology and it incorporates a real spring reverb pan.

Key Features

  • Rugged Pedalboard Friendly Chassis – Aluminium body in “pedalboard-friendly” size
  • Original Accutronics – The SurfyBear utilizes Accutronics spring reverb pans, which are known for their characteristic spring reverb sound.
  • Easily Switch Between Reverb Settings – Dual mixer control to switch between two reverb settings
  • Decay Control – Use the decay control to adjust the length of the reverb tail
  • Add External Reverbs – Connect an external reverb pan and assign it independently to each mixer control!
  • Built-In SurfyTrem – The built-in SurfyTrem features Brownface/Blackface settings and configurable PRE or POST reverb
  • Add Clean Boost – Clean boost to adjust the volume when the effect is on (for both reverb and tremolo sides)
  • True Bypass – True bypass functionality to keep your signal intact when the effect is off

True Spring Reverb

Spring reverb technology has been well known for more than 50 years. One of the first reverb units available for electric guitars was the Fender 6G15 standalone reverb, released in 1962, which has set the standard for generations of musicians. Still today, the unique sound of spring reverbs is very popular among guitarists.

But the sound of the 6G15 is something unique, it is truly an instrument on its own. As a musician you learn to play and interact with the springs, creating that “drippy” sound which became typical in surf music, but also applied to many different styles and situations.

Who Are SurfyBear?

A common question: what’s with the name SURFYBEAR? Well, Bjorn Isheden is the technical director of Surfy Industries and the Swedish engineer who developed the original circuit. “Bjorn” in Swedish also means “bear”… it is really that simple!

Reverb

A reverb pedal is like the rich sauce that ties every flavour on the plate into one smooth experience. It adds depth, warmth, and atmosphere — the sonic equivalent of a perfectly reduced glaze that lingers on the tongue. Whether you’re after the subtle ambience of a cosy café (spring or plate reverb) or the grand echoes of a cathedral (hall or shimmer reverb), this is where your tone breathes and expands. A touch of reverb can turn a dry sound into something lush and inviting — but pour on too much, and it’s all you can taste. Used with finesse, it’s the finishing touch that transforms your tone from plain to unforgettable.

Tremolo

A tremolo pedal modulates the volume of your guitar signal up and down in a rhythmic pattern, creating a pulsing or wavering effect that can sound vintage and hypnotic or sharp and choppy depending on the settings. It’s one of the oldest effects in guitar history, famously used on classic amps from the 1950s and ’60s.

Most tremolo pedals let you control the speed, depth, and wave shape, allowing you to go from smooth, subtle swells to intense stuttering tones. It’s a simple but expressive effect that adds movement and character to your sound.

Volume

Volume pedals control the output level of a guitar signal using a foot-operated treadle. They allow smooth volume swells, dynamic control during playing, and easy muting between songs. Volume pedals can be placed at different points in the signal chain to either control overall loudness or adjust gain and drive behaviour when positioned before distortion or overdrive pedals.
