The Dark Light is a dual reverb pedal that combines the awe-inspiring sonic qualities of both the Dark Star and Sunlight reverb pedals, seamlessly integrating, tweaking and expanding them to create one massive multi-reverb device.

With all the routing options you could want, including separate stereo, parallel mono, and series mono, Dark Light takes Dark Star’s dark pitch shifted, delayed, and bit crushed reverb voices and Sunlight’s bright modulated, comb filtered, and band-passed reverb voices and combines them into one massive sound to take your time with and drift away in.

Each pedal maintains its core sound and control set, then expands from there.

Key Features

  • Dual Reverb – Combines the Dark Star and Sunlight pedals into one pedal housing with multiple options for expression and routing.
  • Limited Edition – Only 2000 pieces are set to be made worldwide

Dual Reverbs

  • 3 Dark Star side modes
    • Pitch – adds two pitch-shifted voices to the reverb
    • Delay – adds a post-reverb delay capable of self-oscillating
    • Crush – degrades the quality of the reverb with adjustable pitch shift and amount of degradation
  • 3 Sunlight side modes
    • Tape – adds modulation inspired by unexpected tape machine wobbling
    • Comb – adds four short delay lines after the reverb creating a comb filter of a fixed phaser
    • Pass – adds a Band-Pass Filter between the two reverb blocks with random sample and hold LFO setting the filter’s cutoff frequency

Versatile Routing

Dark Light can be routed in many ways using the independent IN and OUT jacks of the Sunlight and Dark Star sides. Using all jacks, signal can be routed as True Stereo or Series Mono. Using just one IN-OUT pair, signal can be routed in Parallel Mono. When using one INPUT and both OUTPUTs, a Mono signal can be split to Stereo with Sunlight on one side and Dark Star on the other.

The pedal’s SPREAD control helps with this stereo separation. In stereo routing scenarios, this control will set the depth of the stereo field. All the way up, signal is completely isolated across Dark Star and Sunlight. All the way down, signal is equal on both sides, creating a phantom center. When routing in mono, we recommend setting this knob all the way down, if using Parallel Mono and all the way up for Series Mono routing.

Easy Control

Dark Light’s left and right footswitches turn the individual sides on and off. When tapped, they operate as standard latching footswitch. However, when held, they momentarily change the bypass state, returning to the original state after the switch is let go.

The pedal’s middle footswitch can indefinitely hold the reverb trails of both sides independently or together. Set the HOLD toggle to determine which side is affected by the footswitch. This footswitch can also be tapped for latching operation or held for momentary operation, and the LEDs above it will indicate when the reverb trail is held for each side.

Expression

The EXP jack can be used to externally control any combination of the CTRL 1, CTRL 2, Decay (Dark Star), Decay (Sunlight), Rate, Depth and Input controls, by connecting a TRS expression pedal with signal on the tip. By default, it is set to control CTRL 1 and Depth, but assigning your own expression functionality can be quickly and simply accomplished by holding down all three footswitches for about five seconds until the HOLD LEDs begin to blink.

A switch inside the pedal allows reverb trails to continue after the pedal is turned off. By default, Dark Light’s trails are ON and the pedal is Buffered Bypass when off. To cut reverb off when bypassed, set the switch to off. In this mode the pedal will be True Bypass.

Old Blood Noise

Old Blood Noise Endeavors is a pedal manufacturer known for their experimental and innovative designs that cater to musicians looking to explore unique sound textures. Their pedals, such as the Sunlight Dynamic Reverb and Beam Splitter Triple Distortion, are built to offer more than just standard effects. The Sunlight, for example, allows users to manipulate reverb trails with dynamic sensitivity, and its three modes offer tape modulation, delay stacking, and bandpass filtering to create evolving soundscapes. Meanwhile, the Beam Splitter offers a creative approach by duplicating a signal into three, each with different overdrive voices and delay times, perfect for creating complex, multi-layered effects.

Old Blood Noise’s pedals are designed to push boundaries in terms of sound exploration, often blending delay, reverb, distortion, and modulation in unconventional ways. Their commitment to creating atmospheres and textures makes them a go-to for musicians who are not just seeking effects, but a way to shape their music with unique, evolving tones. The pedals are also designed with hands-on control in mind, offering external expression jack options and flexible output configurations.

Delay

A delay pedal records your signal and plays it back after a set time, creating echoes that can range from tight, slapback repeats to long, atmospheric trails. It’s one of the most versatile effects, used to thicken tones, add rhythmic depth, or build spacious, ambient layers. Analogue delays offer warm, decaying repeats that blend naturally with your tone, while digital units provide pristine echoes with precise control over time, feedback, and mix levels.

From classic rockabilly and tape-style echoes to modern looping and shimmer effects, delay pedals have become essential tools for shaping sound. They can make solos soar, rhythms pulse, or transform simple chord progressions into cinematic textures. Whether used subtly to add dimension or boldly to create soundscapes, a good delay pedal can completely redefine the feel and atmosphere of your music.

Expression

Expression pedals allow real-time control over specific parameters on compatible guitar pedals, such as volume, delay time, modulation depth, or filter sweep. Used with an expression input, they let players shape effects dynamically with their foot, adding movement and performance control that cannot be achieved with fixed knob settings.

Guitar Pedals

Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone.

These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food, once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all.

Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar.

Phaser

A phaser is a type of guitar effects pedal that creates a swirling, sweeping sound by modulating the phase of the audio signal. It works by splitting the incoming signal into two paths, shifting the phase of one path, and then recombining them. This creates peaks and troughs in the frequency spectrum, resulting in a distinctive, “phasing” effect characterized by moving notches in the frequency response.

Here’s how a phaser pedal typically works and some common features:

1. **Rate**: The rate control adjusts the speed at which the phase-shifting effect oscillates. Increasing the rate produces faster modulation, creating a more pronounced swirling effect, while decreasing the rate slows down the modulation for a smoother, more subtle effect.

2. **Depth**: The depth control adjusts the intensity or depth of the phase-shifting effect. Higher depth settings result in more pronounced peaks and troughs in the frequency response, while lower settings produce a more subtle modulation.

3. **Feedback (or Regeneration)**: Some phaser pedals feature a feedback control that determines the amount of modulated signal fed back into the effect. Increasing the feedback creates more pronounced peaks and troughs in the frequency spectrum, resulting in a more intense and resonant phasing effect.

4. **Stages**: Phasers typically have multiple stages (usually four, six, or eight), each of which contributes to the overall phase-shifting effect. More stages generally result in a more complex and textured phasing sound.

5. **Sweep (or Manual)**: The sweep control adjusts the center frequency of the phase-shifting effect. This allows you to focus the phasing effect on specific frequency ranges, altering the tonal character of the modulation.

6. **Resonance (or Feedback)**: Some phaser pedals feature a resonance control that emphasizes the peaks and troughs in the frequency response, creating a more pronounced and resonant effect. This control can add richness and depth to the phasing sound.

Phaser pedals are commonly used in various music genres, including rock, funk, and psychedelic music, to add movement, depth, and texture to guitar tones. They can be used to create swirling, swirling effects on rhythm parts, add dynamics to lead lines, or create atmospheric textures for ambient music. Overall, phaser pedals offer guitarists a versatile tool for shaping their tone and adding expressive modulation effects to their playing.

Pitch

Pitch pedals alter the frequency of your guitar signal, changing the perceived note or adding harmony. They can shift notes up or down by fixed intervals, create harmonies, or produce dive-bomb and whammy-style effects without a tremolo arm. Pitch shifters and harmonisers are great for thickening solos, simulating multiple guitars, or experimenting with creative, otherworldly sounds that expand your tonal range.

Reverb

A reverb pedal is like the rich sauce that ties every flavour on the plate into one smooth experience. It adds depth, warmth, and atmosphere — the sonic equivalent of a perfectly reduced glaze that lingers on the tongue. Whether you’re after the subtle ambience of a cosy café (spring or plate reverb) or the grand echoes of a cathedral (hall or shimmer reverb), this is where your tone breathes and expands. A touch of reverb can turn a dry sound into something lush and inviting — but pour on too much, and it’s all you can taste. Used with finesse, it’s the finishing touch that transforms your tone from plain to unforgettable.
