Recreating a Legend

Introduced in 1983 by Roland, the SDE-3000 is revered for its beautifully rich sound and distinctive modulation. The SDE-3 brings the authentic vibe of this classic delay to a pedalboard-friendly BOSS compact, enhanced with innovative creative features for every musical style.

Vintage Colour & Character

Elevate your tone with a whole host of evocative vintage delay sounds. The efficient panel provides the primary controls of the vintage SDE-3000 which includes the delay time, feedback, and independent rate and depth knobs for the modulation.

In addition, some more controls have been added to expand your sonic potential. Explore retro single delays and ’80s-style mod/delay combos. Or tweak the mod and high-cut controls to conjure moody, atmospheric tonalities for ambient, chill, and lo-fi music – the only limit is your creativity.

Offset Magic

Not only does this pedal contain the legendary SDE-3000’s famous mono sound, but the SDE-3 includes a powerful Offset feature to create interesting tones with two simultaneous delays.

Yes, two different delays at once.

With one simple control, you can instantly add a second delay to the primary delay for a wealth of mono and stereo colours to create your own atmosphere.

Doubled Delays

Turning the Offset knob up to its center position introduces a second delay that’s 1–100 ms longer than the primary delay.

Timed Dual Delays

In the second half of its range, the Offset knob produces a shorter second delay that’s based on the primary delay time. Use the pedal’s tap tempo function to determine the quarter-note value for the primary delay.

Multiple Output Modes

The versatile SDE-3 provides output configurations for any stage or studio scenario. Run it in mono for basic setups.

Play in true stereo with discrete left/right delays or a panning mode for ultra-wide sounds that move across the stereo field. Send dry and direct feeds to two amps for wet/dry setups.

Modern Workflow

Enhance your performances with the modern control that the SDE-3 offers. Press and hold the pedal switch to enable the tap tempo function. Or use the TRS MIDI input to receive clock sync signals from DAWs, pedals, and drum machines.

Focused High-Definition Audio

AF method (Adaptive Focus method) This is a proprietary method from Roland & BOSS that vastly improves the signal-to-noise (SN) ratio of the AD and DA converters.

Highly Compatible

Connect external footswitches for on-demand access to tap tempo and a hold function for on-the-fly looping. Alternately, an expression pedal can be used to control the Level, Feedback, and Time knobs for delay mix adjustment, wild pitch effects, and dramatic self-oscillation.

Delay

A delay pedal records your signal and plays it back after a set time, creating echoes that can range from tight, slapback repeats to long, atmospheric trails. It’s one of the most versatile effects, used to thicken tones, add rhythmic depth, or build spacious, ambient layers. Analogue delays offer warm, decaying repeats that blend naturally with your tone, while digital units provide pristine echoes with precise control over time, feedback, and mix levels.

From classic rockabilly and tape-style echoes to modern looping and shimmer effects, delay pedals have become essential tools for shaping sound. They can make solos soar, rhythms pulse, or transform simple chord progressions into cinematic textures. Whether used subtly to add dimension or boldly to create soundscapes, a good delay pedal can completely redefine the feel and atmosphere of your music.

Expression

Expression pedals allow real-time control over specific parameters on compatible guitar pedals, such as volume, delay time, modulation depth, or filter sweep. Used with an expression input, they let players shape effects dynamically with their foot, adding movement and performance control that cannot be achieved with fixed knob settings.

Filter

Guitar Pedals

Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone.

These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food, once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all.

Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar.

Looper

A looper pedal records and plays back sections of your playing, allowing you to layer sounds and build full arrangements on your own. By capturing short or long phrases, you can create rhythm parts, harmonies, or entire backing tracks in real time. Most loopers offer basic controls for record, overdub, and playback, while advanced models include multiple tracks, tempo syncing, and memory storage for saving your loops.

Loopers are invaluable for practice, songwriting, and live performance. They help you explore ideas, refine timing, and experiment with textures — from solo acoustic performances to complex ambient soundscapes. A good looper pedal becomes an instrument in itself, letting you improvise, arrange, and perform with creativity and freedom, turning one guitar into an entire band.

MIDI

MIDI pedals use the Musical Instrument Digital Interface standard to communicate with other guitar pedals, effects units, and hardware. They allow control over presets, parameters, and switching across multiple devices from a single controller. MIDI integration makes it possible to build complex, synchronised pedal setups while keeping control simple and consistent.

New

This is brand new, fresh in, and a UK warranty is included. New Gear always comes from trusted UK music retailers.

Pitch

Pitch pedals alter the frequency of your guitar signal, changing the perceived note or adding harmony. They can shift notes up or down by fixed intervals, create harmonies, or produce dive-bomb and whammy-style effects without a tremolo arm. Pitch shifters and harmonisers are great for thickening solos, simulating multiple guitars, or experimenting with creative, otherworldly sounds that expand your tonal range.

Volume

Volume pedals control the output level of a guitar signal using a foot-operated treadle. They allow smooth volume swells, dynamic control during playing, and easy muting between songs. Volume pedals can be placed at different points in the signal chain to either control overall loudness or adjust gain and drive behaviour when positioned before distortion or overdrive pedals.
