Description

To celebrate two decades of tone-shaping excellence, the Tech 21 SansAmp 20th Anniversary Para Driver DI arrives in a stunning limited edition Anniversary Silver finish. With only 500 units worldwide, this precision-machined aluminium billet version of the much-loved Para Driver DI delivers the same flexible, 100 percent analogue SansAmp circuitry in a tougher, more luxurious housing that is built to work hard on stage and in the studio.
Evolving from the original SansAmp Acoustic DI, the Para Driver DI adds a Drive control and footswitchable bypass, opening the door to everything from subtle warmth and grit through to more aggressive textures. It is designed to bring natural body, presence and polish to almost any instrument, while taming the harshness and unnatural harmonics often associated with piezo pickups. Whether you are tracking in the studio or running straight to front of house, it gives you a consistent, musical sound that feels like you are playing through a high quality valve preamp.
Version 2 of the Para Driver DI keeps the same core tone and feature set that made the original a staple, while adding two powerful tools for acoustic players. The Rumble Filter cleans up sub-sonic rumble and handling noise that can make acoustic instruments sound boomy, while the Air switch restores top-end sparkle and clarity, helping your instrument sit perfectly in a mix without becoming harsh. It is a compact, rugged solution for players who need reliable, repeatable results night after night.
With a legacy that stretches back to 1997 and a design that has stood the test of time, this 20th Anniversary edition underlines just how indispensable the Para Driver DI has become. From acoustic guitar and upright bass to violin, cello, viola and electric instruments, it offers a refined, musical platform for shaping your sound, wrapped up in a collector-grade enclosure that looks as good as it sounds.

Limited 20th Anniversary Edition
This commemorative version of the Para Driver DI is limited to just 500 units worldwide, finished in a distinctive Anniversary Silver anodised aluminium billet housing with all-metal knobs. It is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Tech 21 history, with a premium look and feel that stands out on any pedalboard.

Analogue SansAmp Tone Shaping
At the heart of the Para Driver DI is Tech 21’s proprietary all-analogue SansAmp circuitry, designed to emulate the warmth and response of a quality valve preamp. It smooths out harsh transients, adds musical harmonics and gives your instrument a natural, studio-ready presence, whether you are going direct to a mixer, audio interface or PA.

Optimised For Acoustic And Piezo Instruments
Originally born from the SansAmp Acoustic DI, the Para Driver DI excels at taming the brittle, quacky character of many piezo-equipped instruments. It removes unnatural harmonics and restores body and depth, making it particularly effective with acoustic and electro-acoustic guitars, upright bass and bowed strings where a natural, mic-like sound is essential.

Version 2 Rumble Filter And Air Controls
Version 2 introduces the Rumble Filter and Air switches to refine your tone even further. The Rumble Filter strips out unwanted sub-sonic frequencies that cause boominess and handling noise, while the Air control adds a tailored high-end lift for extra clarity and shimmer on acoustic instruments, helping them cut through without sounding harsh.

Key Features

Tech 21 is a well-respected company in the music industry, particularly known for its innovative guitar effects and amplification products. Founded in 1989 by musician and engineer Andrew Barta, Tech 21 gained prominence with its groundbreaking product, the SansAmp.

This analogue amp emulator was revolutionary because it allowed guitarists to achieve tube amplifier-like tones without using actual tube amplifiers. The SansAmp became a staple in studios and live performances, appreciated for its ability to provide versatile tones, from clean to high-gain, all in a portable, pedal-friendly format.

Over the years, Tech 21 has expanded its product line to include various other effects pedals, rack units, and amplifiers, maintaining a strong reputation for high-quality, analog-based products.

One of the key aspects of Tech 21’s success is its commitment to analogue technology, which many musicians prefer for its warmth and responsiveness. The company’s product line includes popular pedals such as the Fly Rig series, which combines multiple effects into a compact, travel-friendly unit, and the Bass Driver DI, a favourite among bassists for its ability to enhance tone and provide DI capabilities for live and studio applications.

Tech 21’s dedication to innovation and quality has made it a favourite among professional musicians across different genres, including notable artists like Geddy Lee of Rush, who has collaborated with the company to create signature models. With a focus on both practicality and exceptional sound quality, Tech 21 continues to be a leader in the world of guitar effects and amplification.
