The Chef at JustPedals is happy, the Darkglass Alpha Omega Dual Distortion Bass Pedal is in stock and is ready to dish out. Arriving with you direct to the door and freshly made by Darkglass Electronics. delivered by our tracked roadie service this is just a fresh pedal from a tasty brand, its available and in stock. Pedal Bass Distortion Dual Omega Alpha Guitar Effect Pedal.

I hear bass players rejoice with the announcement of the Alpha Omega designed in conjunction with Karnivool bassist Jon Stockman.

This is a brand new circuit from Darkglass that doesn’t have any sign of their Microtubes circuits on-board. After spending months designing this new pedal, the Darkglass guys ended up with 2 circuits they all loved. And because they couldn’t choose which one to include on the pedal, they just used both!

2 Channels

You can use the Mod knob dial between the 2 channels. And because this is a knob rather than a toggle switch, you can blend the channels as much as you want.

With a powerful 3 band EQ you can maximise the response of the pedal to your bass and use the mini toggles to add low-end or top-mid saturation. When you don’t use these toggles, the pedal will have a very natural flat response.

It’s also worth mentioning that though this is a distortion/preamp pedal that nails those Darkglass sounds, you can use it as a flat boost to enhance your current bass sound. Darkglass themselves have said they believe this to be their most versatile pedal.

Outputs

You’ve got all the outputs you’d need on the Alpha Omega with a direct out (With ground lift to prevent any noise) to go directly to the PA or interface. It even has a Parallel output to run into a bass amp on-stage or if you want to put it through some effects and mix them into your dry signal.

Here’s what Darkglass say about the Alpha Omega

Besides being an amazing composer, producer and bassist, Jon Stockman is amazing at crafting some of the most devastating bass tones in the world. We got together in our then Helsinki headquarters 18 months ago and after endless tweaking and tens of prototypes we are finally ready to announce our first co-designed creation: Alpha · Omega.

This creation differs greatly from our previous preamplifiers and overdrives: it is fully operational amplifier based and has two distinct distortion circuits (Alpha and Omega) which can be selected or blended using our Mod knob. This unusual control, in conjunction with the toggle switches and 3 active band equilizer makes Alpha · Omega the most flexible among our designs.

Bass — In the realm of guitar effects, “bass” pedals are designed specifically for bass guitars, enhancing their low-end frequencies and allowing bassists to shape their tone and explore new sonic possibilities. These pedals cater to the unique characteristics of the bass guitar and provide various effects to modify its sound. For instance, overdrive and distortion pedals add gain and saturation, giving the bass a gritty or distorted tone. Compression pedals help even out dynamics by smoothing out the volume of loud and soft notes, resulting in a consistent and punchy sound. EQ pedals enable bassists to sculpt their tone by boosting or cutting specific frequencies, allowing them to emphasize certain parts of the sound or compensate for room acoustics. Other popular bass effects include envelope filters, which produce dynamic filter sweeps in response to playing dynamics, adding rhythmic groove to bass lines. Octave pedals generate harmonies one or two octaves below the original note, creating a fuller and more powerful sound. Modulation effects like chorus, flanger, and phaser add depth and movement by modulating the pitch or phase, creating swirling textures and enhancing the overall presence of the bass line. Lastly, delay and reverb pedals introduce ambience and spatial depth, adding echoes and reflections that enhance the sense of space in music. These diverse effects allow bassists to expand their sonic palette and express their creativity in numerous ways.. Distortion — Distortion pedals take your clean guitar signal and transform it into something bigger, bolder, and full of attitude. By clipping the waveform, they add sustain, bite, and aggression, creating that thick, compressed tone that’s powered rock music for decades. From the growling crunch of classic hard rock to the tight, saturated roar of modern metal, distortion is all about energy and presence. It gives every note weight and authority, pushing your amp to its limits and beyond. There are countless flavours of distortion, each with its own texture and edge. Some sound smooth and creamy, others raw and gnarly like tearing fabric. It’s the sonic equivalent of turning up the heat until the sound cooks — rich, sizzling, and perfectly seasoned to taste. Whether used for rhythm muscle or soaring leads, a good distortion pedal doesn’t just add volume; it adds personality, grit, and that unmistakable sense of power under your fingers.. Dual. Pedal — Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone. These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food — once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all. Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar..
