Premium bass tone on the go. The DSM & Humboldt Simplifier Bass Station is a sleek, stylish preamp and cab sim equipped with a whole host of pure analogue parameters and useful connections. Craft your own unique sound in a hands-on, visceral approach.

Sound

The Simplifier Bass Station covers a lot of ground, from honky notes through mid-gain funk and into growling rock – even onto aggressive modern metal attack. When cleaned up, the Bass Station is a brilliant platform for your more experimental pedals or a simple drive.

There’s a lot happening on the face of the Simplifier Bass Station. But in practice, that’s a good thing. No diving into menus and sub menus here – everything is as you see it. Flick a switch or turn a dial and your tone changes.

Take control of a three-band EQ with a mids frequency range selection to sculpt your base sound. On the left side of the pedal you’ll find your cab sim solutions. Three cab sizes to choose from, a speaker colour to add character and dials for mic position and resonance. You can then blend your cab sim signal from fully dry to fully wet.

Connectivity

The Bass Station slots perfectly into your portable setup. It can accommodate passive and active bass pickups and headphones for quiet playing. Two send and returns effects loops are available to run your pedals in parallel for a wet/dry rig or following the preamp. The Bass Station covers all aspects of direct recording and front of house use.

&. Amp — An amp pedal, often referred to as an amp simulator pedal or amp modeling pedal, is a type of effects pedal designed to emulate the sound and characteristics of various guitar amplifiers. By using digital or analog processing, these pedals replicate the tonal qualities, gain stages, and tonal response of different types of amplifiers, such as vintage tube amps, high-gain modern amps, or classic solid-state models. Amp pedals are typically used to shape a guitarist’s tone without needing to rely on multiple physical amplifiers. They offer a range of preset or adjustable sounds that mimic the effects of different amp types, including their distinctive overdrive, distortion, and EQ settings. Some amp pedals also include additional features like cabinet simulations, which mimic the sound of different speaker cabinets, and built-in effects like reverb and delay. This makes them a versatile tool for achieving a variety of tones and sounds, whether in a practice setting, recording studio, or live performance, providing convenience and flexibility in a compact form.. Bass — In the realm of guitar effects, “bass” pedals are designed specifically for bass guitars, enhancing their low-end frequencies and allowing bassists to shape their tone and explore new sonic possibilities. These pedals cater to the unique characteristics of the bass guitar and provide various effects to modify its sound. For instance, overdrive and distortion pedals add gain and saturation, giving the bass a gritty or distorted tone. Compression pedals help even out dynamics by smoothing out the volume of loud and soft notes, resulting in a consistent and punchy sound. EQ pedals enable bassists to sculpt their tone by boosting or cutting specific frequencies, allowing them to emphasize certain parts of the sound or compensate for room acoustics. Other popular bass effects include envelope filters, which produce dynamic filter sweeps in response to playing dynamics, adding rhythmic groove to bass lines. Octave pedals generate harmonies one or two octaves below the original note, creating a fuller and more powerful sound. Modulation effects like chorus, flanger, and phaser add depth and movement by modulating the pitch or phase, creating swirling textures and enhancing the overall presence of the bass line. Lastly, delay and reverb pedals introduce ambience and spatial depth, adding echoes and reflections that enhance the sense of space in music. These diverse effects allow bassists to expand their sonic palette and express their creativity in numerous ways.. Cab. Humboldt.
