Here’s What Floyd Rose Say About the Fat Brass Tremolo Block

This “Fat” brass big block will add mass and sustain to your Floyd Rose bridge along with the tonal qualities of brass. Works with Floyd Rose Original, Non-Fine Tuner, 7-String*, 1000 Series*, and Special* tremolo systems. Width is 50.15 mm and thickness is 12.90 mm.

Brass has been a much desired material for guitar luthiers dating back to the invention of the instrument; it is notorious for increasing warmth and clarity simultaneously, a rare combination. While greatly strengthening chord clarity and beefing up individual tones, it also greatly improves resonance, especially in the midrange of the instrument. All of these improvements are accompanied with the undeniably vintage sound and feel of this time-tested material.

Since this block is larger than a conventional sustain block, it can also limit upward travel of the tremolo and can be set to rest against the body in a blocked bridge configuration. For floating bridge setup this block may require some routing in the spring cavity.

Center to center hole spacing of the outside screws is 1.345″ / 34 mm.

These blocks will fit the Original Series 6 & 7-string, and the Special Series & 1000 Series 6-string.

Tremolo

A tremolo pedal modulates the volume of your guitar signal up and down in a rhythmic pattern, creating a pulsing or wavering effect that can sound vintage and hypnotic or sharp and choppy depending on the settings. It’s one of the oldest effects in guitar history, famously used on classic amps from the 1950s and ’60s.

Most tremolo pedals let you control the speed, depth, and wave shape, allowing you to go from smooth, subtle swells to intense stuttering tones. It’s a simple but expressive effect that adds movement and character to your sound.
