Here’s what Catalinbread say:

The world of dream pop lends itself rather well to the digital chorus effect, unencumbered by analog limitations and empowered by the limits of the imagination. Our new Wake serves up an additive chorus effect that plays well as an “always-on” tonal thickener with a twist. A clean octave down circuit runs parallel to the chorus engine and is independently mixable for even more added depth. Unlike many choruses that stand out in the mix, the Wake shakes hands with your other pedals and amp for seamless integration.

While it was the analog chorus that initially set our hearts ablaze in the world of multitracking, it was that early digital gear that infiltrated the studios and found its way onto any number of ‘80s and ‘90s records. The music with what feels like the entire mix bathed in digital rack choruses went by many names but eventually settled on the name “dream pop.” While the term shares origins with shoegaze, it is one meant to convey atmospherics in equal measure with the melodic hooks and moods commonly associated with pop music.

We’ve thrown our hat into the dream pop ring with the Wake, an eight-voice chorus that works with your other pedals rather than against them, while imparting dynamics and mood. As you might expect, “mood” is something the Wake has in spades, from wide-ranging rate and depth controls to a mix knob that imparts a gentle pitch vibrato. New to the chorus world is the implementation of a mixable octave-down control that adds a new dimension of depth without impeding the musicality. Many analog chorus units sound too much like an “effect,” which is why some people turn their noses up at the thought. The Wake aims to integrate effortlessly into any setup and provide a foundational building block that livens up your playing without sounding like total cheese. It’s easy to dial in, easy to leave on, and easy to get lost in. Enter: the Wake.

Controls

  • Octave – This control runs in parallel with the chorus effect giving you a whistle-clean octave down without shedding any artifacts into the chorus path. Use this along with the Mix control to give yourself a killer three-part effect that adds a great amount of depth to your tone.
  • Mix – The bulk of the chorus effects is found on every Mix position other than maximum and minimum. When the knob is maxed, the Wake imparts some interesting pitch vibrato tones due to its eight-voice architecture. When rolled back, the Wake gives you a dry signal, same as you put in.
  • Rate – This controls the speed of the chorus modulation. Those here for the atmospherics may like this control set low, and those looking to jump out of the mix at a moment’s notice may prefer this higher.
  • Depth – This controls the depth of the chorus modulation. The voices allow the Wake to get extremely deep while still giving note clarity. Back off on this control for a subtler effect.

Just Pedal Ingredients.

Guitar Pedals — Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone. These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food, once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all.Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar.. New — This is brand new, fresh in, and a UK warranty is included. New Gear always comes from trusted UK music retailers.. Octave — An octave pedal shifts your guitar signal up or down by one or more octaves, blending the altered pitch with your original sound to create a fuller, more complex tone. It can add a deep, bass-like layer underneath your playing or a shimmering high octave on top for lead lines and solos. Classic analogue octave pedals often produce slightly gritty, organic sounds, while modern digital versions track more precisely and can offer multiple octave ranges.Octave pedals are great for thickening single-note riffs, creating synth-style textures, or even mimicking bass parts when playing alone. They pair well with fuzz or overdrive pedals for massive, harmonically rich tones. Whether you’re after vintage Hendrix-style octave fuzz or a modern polyphonic sound that tracks chords cleanly, an octave pedal opens up a world of creative possibilities and adds real weight and character to your tone.. Pitch — Pitch pedals alter the frequency of your guitar signal, changing the perceived note or adding harmony. They can shift notes up or down by fixed intervals, create harmonies, or produce dive-bomb and whammy-style effects without a tremolo arm. Pitch shifters and harmonisers are great for thickening solos, simulating multiple guitars, or experimenting with creative, otherworldly sounds that expand your tonal range.. Vibrato — Vibrato refers to a guitar pedal effect that modulates pitch slightly up and down, creating movement and a sense of wobble in the sound. Unlike tremolo, which changes volume, vibrato affects pitch only, producing anything from subtle shimmer to pronounced, warbling textures. It is often used to add character, depth, and vintage-style modulation to guitar tones..
