The Unobtanium RAW is a dual overdrive pedal an all-analogue faithful reproduction of the legendary Klon Centaur overdrive voicing on the right, and two unobtainable tube amplifier voicings on the left.

Key Features

  • Legendary Tone – The faithful K-style tone that comes from this pedal is designed to inspire.
  • Pure Dumble Overdrive – With the help of the ‘60s NOS Mullard/Valvo OC45 Germanium Transistors, you can be sure that this pedal delivers authentic Dumble!
  • Passive Effects Loop – The passive effects loop gives you the option to connect your beloved pedals between your booster/overdrive and amp in a box or use the two sections as separate and independent effects when using an external bypass switcher/looper.
  • Power Up Bypass/Engage – This is a preset function for footswitches. That way you can select which state your pedal will go to when you plug in the power supply.
  • True Bypass/Buffered – Buffered or True Bypass Operation means you can fit this pedal in your signal chain easily.

K-Style

On the K-style side of the pedal, Crazy Tube Circuits has added an authentic voicing to the clipping section. This is a set of hand-selected Mullard/Valvo labelled OC45 germanium transistors from the ‘60s. This adds a supernatural feel with organic compression for increased gain and sustain. This is the first Klon-type circuit to feature germanium transistors in its clipping section!

Dumble Overdrive

The amp-in-a-box side of the RAW version is 2 Dumble voiced overdrive circuits and is glassier and punchier than the standard version of this pedal. Think of singing blues rock and classic rock sounds that cut through the mix, flawlessly performing with all kinds of different guitar/pickup combinations.

Tube — Tube-sounding guitar effect pedals are celebrated for their ability to replicate the warm, rich, and dynamic tones associated with classic vacuum tube amplifiers. These pedals emulate the natural harmonic distortion and compression produced by tube circuitry, which adds depth and character to the guitar’s sound. This results in a more organic and engaging tone with a pleasingly smooth overdrive that many musicians find desirable. The warmth and complexity of tube emulation can enhance both subtle nuances and powerful lead tones, making it ideal for genres that favour vintage or classic sounds. Tube-sounding pedals often provide greater responsiveness to playing dynamics, allowing for expressive performance variations based on how hard or softly you play. This dynamic sensitivity ensures that the pedal’s effect adjusts naturally with your playing style, preserving the nuances of your technique. The harmonic richness and clarity achieved through these pedals offer a more detailed and full-bodied sound, which helps in achieving a distinctive tone that stands out in both live performances and studio recordings. Despite the higher cost and occasional maintenance needs, the unique tonal qualities of tube-sounding pedals make them a favoured choice for guitarists seeking an authentic and versatile sound..
