In 2016 we released Andy Timmons’ signature overdrive, the AT — or as everybody ended up calling it, “the @.” It started in 2013 when Andy bought a JHS Angry Charlie and made it his main lead channel, beating out the distortion channels of the boutique amps he’s known for. We met at NAMM, discussed some ideas for his own version, and soon after, the AT was born. The AT Mini is the original V1 AT circuit, permanently set in Andy’s preferred 100-watt mode — the open, loud, less-compressed voicing with the most volume and the most amp-like crunch. No toggle. Just the setting the guy whose name is on the pedal uses. If you need the most authentic British distortion lead and rhythm sound you can find — one that perfectly replicates the punch, saturation, and unmistakable feeling of standing in front of a stack of loud amplifiers — this is it. Whats Different This is the same exact circuit as the V1. Same four knobs. Smaller box, smaller price. FIRST: We put it in a new enclosure — a compact case that gives you back valuable board real estate. SECOND: We removed the wattage toggle and set the voicing to 100 watts. THAT’S IT: Volume, Drive, EQ, and Air all work exactly as they always have. If you want Andy’s tone with Andy’s exact setting in a smaller footprint, this is it. Controls VOLUME – Controls the output volume. DRIVE – Controls the amount of drive and gain, just like a tube amp being cranked at high volumes. Wide range from high-gain blues to thunderous distortion. EQ – A high pass filter that naturally brightens or darkens the overall tone of the pedal. Right is brighter, left is darker. AIR – Just like the presence knob on an amp, this lets you dial in the perfect amount of high end for compatibility with any amp. Right is brighter, left is darker. Specifications Bypass: True bypass Controls: Volume, Drive, EQ, Air Voice: Fixed 100-watt voicing Power: 9VDC to 18VDC center negative, 10mA Assembled in Kansas City Dimensions: 1.96″ X 3.93″ X 1.21″

Overdrive Pedals
Overdrive uses soft or moderate clipping to add harmonics and compression while retaining more of the original note shape than heavy distortion. Some circuits emphasise the midrange and trim bass before clipping; others remain broad, transparent or amplifier-like. Gain, clipping arrangement, headroom and tone filtering decide whether it supplies a light edge, a saturated drive sound or extra push into another gain stage.
