The M-EQ Driver from Origin Effects is a mid booster and drive pedal, drawing inspiration from vintage Pultec® studio EQs from the 1950s. Known for their highly versatile and musical EQ curves, Pultec® EQs can be heard on thousands of hit records. The M-EQ Driver is a reimagined version of the classic studio EQ and has been optimised for guitar, all the while capturing the harmonically-rich magic of the original!

This M-EQ Driver offers a range of mid-focussed tones, from a subtle mid boost to thick, resonant overdrive, making it a versatile addition to your rig. It also comes loaded with the Adaptive Circuitry found in Origin Effects' Halcyon Green Overdrive. This unique technology allows for a smooth transition from warm overdrive to bright clean tones and responds nicely to volume changes and playing dynamics.

Continuing with Origin Effects' tradition of vintage, studio-inspired tones in modern guitar pedals, the M-EQ Driver is hand built in the UK using premium components.

Boost Pedals

Boost pedals raise signal level, add gain, or do both. A clean boost leaves most of the source voice alone and pushes the next stage harder; a coloured boost changes the frequency balance as it lifts the level, while a treble or mid boost can deliberately narrow the emphasis. Controls such as gain, output, tone, presence and headroom determine whether the pedal behaves as an always-on preamp or a solo lift. Placement matters: before an overdrive it increases clipping, after it mainly increases level, and into a clean amp it may simply make the rig louder.

Buffered Bypass

Keeps an active buffer in the signal path when bypassed, helping drive long cable runs and high-capacitance boards. It can alter loading and is not the same as true bypass.

EQ

Changes the level of selected frequency bands rather than adding a fixed effect. Graphic, parametric and sweepable designs can correct resonances, shape gain stages or place an instrument in a mix.
