Now Broadcasting – The Broadcast AP-II is a dual pre-amplifier pedal that was co-designed with guitarist Ariel Posen. The pedal features two independent pre-amplifier circuits which are differently voiced. Each one has its own unique voicing.

Each circuit has a large gain range, and once combined, it provides a whole new range of tonal options, which can be anything from a subtle sonic boost, all the way to heavy distortion!

The Broadcast AP-II has a Send / Return loop between the two sections of the pedal, which enables other pedals to be added between the pre-amplifiers, or for each one to be placed at different points in your signal chain.

Silicon Pre-Amplifier

The silicon pre-amplifier is fitted with a silicon transistor and transformer, bringing a smooth, darker tone which was originally seen in the original Broadcast-AP pedal.

  • DRIVE – Controls the gain of the silicon preamplifier part of the pedal.
  • LEVEL – Controls the output level of the silicon pre-amplifier section.

Germanium Pre-Amplifier

This pre-amplifier removes the transformer and runs with a germanium transistor. This results in a brighter, more aggressive tone.

  • DRIVE – Controls the gain of the germanium preamplifier.
  • LEVEL – Controls the output level.

Key Features

  • Send/Return Loop – Connect your pedal wherever you like in your signal chain, with simple connections.
  • Two Pre-Amplifiers – The pedal features two pre-amplifiers which can be used separately, or combined, giving you a whole range of different tonal possibilities.

Specifications

  • Power: Required a DC Power Unit (PSU), with voltage 9VDC – 24VDC
  • Current Draw: 50mA Maximum

Pedal Amps & Headphone Amps

Pedal-format amplifiers contain a power-amp stage, headphone driver or both, allowing a pedalboard signal to drive speakers or headphones directly. Output power and minimum speaker impedance are critical for power amps; headphone impedance, cabinet simulation and auxiliary inputs matter for silent monitoring. Some designs also provide preamp voicing, effects loops, balanced outputs or USB recording.
