UK manufacturer ThorpyFX produce some of the most sought-after effects in the business. Headed up by Adrian Thorpe MBE, their overdrives, fuzz pedals and boost stompboxes have a reputation for reliability and raucous sounds. For 2019, they’ve reached uncharted depths – say hello to the Deep Oggin Analog Chorus & Vibrato pedal!

Here’s what ThorpyFX say:

The Deep Oggin was designed as a collaboration with Dan Coggins (Former Lovetone Pedal designer) as his first modulation pedal design since his Lovetone pedal days. This fully Analog Chorus/Vibrato was designed from the ground up to provide the most incredible 3 dimensional Chorus sounds with a level of versatility to meet the needs of all guitarists.

Faced with hundreds of digital choruses on the market, Thorpy decided to go fully analog and deliver that vintage chorus that can only come from an analog circuit. The Deep Oggin is voiced to provide a variety of chorus styles from deep and wet through to more subtle and shimmery sounds.

Premium sound, premium features

With controls for Depth, Rate, Blend, Volume and Treble this analog pedal keeps it simple but deceptively feature packed. For stereo pedal enthusiasts, they will be pleased to know that the Deep Oggin has both dry and wet outputs. This pedal allows you to deliver an almost unlimited tonal pallet no matter what your mood/style or guitar and amp setup. The premium sound is enhanced through the use of premium components all wrapped in a beautiful custom engineered enclosure.

Analog — Analogue refers to circuitry that uses continuous electrical signals rather than digital processing. In pedals, analogue designs are often valued for their natural response, warmth, and dynamic feel, particularly in overdrive, fuzz, and modulation effects inspired by classic designs.. Chorus — A chorus pedal works by splitting your signal, slightly delaying one part and modulating its pitch before blending it back with the original. The result is a rich, shimmering tone that feels wide and fluid, almost as if several guitars are playing together in unison. It’s an effect that can add life and movement to your playing, making clean tones sound lush and dreamy or adding a subtle shimmer to warm overdrive. From the classic 80s shimmer heard on countless records to modern ambient textures, the chorus effect remains timeless. Whether you want a gentle swirl for rhythm parts or a deep, detuned wash for atmospheric soundscapes, a good chorus pedal brings space and dimension to your tone. It’s a staple on many pedalboards for its ability to transform even the simplest chords into something spacious and expressive.  . Deep. Vibrato — Vibrato refers to a guitar pedal effect that modulates pitch slightly up and down, creating movement and a sense of wobble in the sound. Unlike tremolo, which changes volume, vibrato affects pitch only, producing anything from subtle shimmer to pronounced, warbling textures. It is often used to add character, depth, and vintage-style modulation to guitar tones..
