The TC Electronic Magus Pro has you covered for all your distortion needs – whether you’re after classic valve amp style heat, a fatter, fuzzy vibe or maxed out firepower. The three-way tone selection gives you loads of room to dial in your own unique tone.

Key Features

  • Classic high gain distortion pedal with specially designed circuitry that recreates the slow slew rate of the infamous LM308 op-amp
  • Treble filter control shapes top-end bite
  • 3 different modes deliver classic, turbo and fat iterations of this legendary distortion circuit
  • Classic mode produces punchy mids and tight bottom end
  • Turbo mode engages LED clipping diodes for greater headroom and more output level
  • Fat mode gives the bass a boost and reshapes the upper mids for an ultimate rock tone
  • Evenly balanced harmonic resonance produces effortless sustain and musical feedback at high gain settings
  • All-analog circuit produces rich warm tones

On top of the fantastic tonal options, the Magus Pro is a super solid stompbox ready to slide into any setup. True bypass circuitry means your existing tone remains intact with the Magus Pro turned off in the chain. The top mounted jacks also make it easy to slot into your pedalboard configuration.

Versatile Classic Analog Distortion

If you’ve ever needed a Classic Analog High Gain Distortion Pedal but been unable to find one with enough versatility to suit any scenario, the MAGUS PRO will be a very welcome surprise for you. Its slow slew rate, treble filter control and three different modes of operation provide more than enough variance in approach and tone to compliment any playing style.

Slow Slew Circuitry

We’ve specially designed a circuit to recreate the classic slow slew of the infamous LM308 op-amp using readily available modern components. By keeping the slew rate slow, harsh unwanted harmonic overtones and interference are eliminated, leaving you with a smooth layer of pure distortion whilst cranking the gain.

A Filter That Trebles Your Needs

One particularly distinctive feature of the MAGUS PRO is the Treble Filter control. It’s an extremely effective Hi-cut filter, allowing you to totally tailor your top end bite.

Distortion Pedals

Distortion clips the waveform more firmly than overdrive, generating dense upper harmonics, longer sustain and a more compressed response. Circuit topology and filtering decide whether the sound is tight and focused, broad and aggressive, smooth or deliberately abrasive. Gain sets the amount of clipping, while pre- and post-distortion tone controls strongly influence low-end definition, midrange presence and high-frequency texture.

Tags

Analogue

The signal is shaped by continuously varying electronic circuitry rather than being converted into a digital effect algorithm. Component choice, operating voltage and circuit tolerances influence headroom, noise, clipping texture and the small variations in response between designs.

Bass

Voiced or equipped to retain low-frequency fundamentals and the higher headroom of a bass signal. Clean blends, crossovers and bass-specific filter ranges can preserve weight and articulation while the effected portion adds harmonics, movement or ambience.

True Bypass

Connects input directly to output through mechanical or relay switching when the effect is off, removing the active circuit from the audio path. It avoids buffer colour but leaves cable capacitance and switching design to influence high-frequency loss and possible switching noise.
