Here’s what Morningstar say:

ML5R is a reorderable loop switcher that redefines your approach to audio effects. Experience entirely new sounds from your existing effects – just by switching up their order. Its sleek, intuitive interface enables you to switch the order of your effects quickly, whenever you want.

No Editor Required

Everything you can do on ML5R, you can do on ML5R. Set loop Order, Bypass and Trails with just a few simple switch presses.

Set Order

Simply press the loop buttons in your desired order, and the effect loops will be arranged accordingly. In the example below, the order is B > A > D > C > E.

Set Bypass

Select the loops that you want engaged when you recall an ML5R preset. Bypassed loops can be engaged individually after a preset has been recalled.

Set Trails

Enable spillover trails for your desired loop.

Save

Save your custom loop order, bypass states and trails as a preset in any of the 128 user slots. Simply send ML5R a Program Change message from 0 to 127 to recall your desired presets.

Full MIDI Capabilities

Scroll through presets, toggle individual loops on/off, rearrange loop order, control master mute and more. Take full control of ML5R with your MIDI controller.

If you use a Morningstar MIDI controller, a dedicated ML5R message type allows quick and easy access to all functions without needing to refer to any MIDI chart.

Pedal Switchers

A pedal switcher routes effects through independently controlled loops so several pedals can be engaged, bypassed or reordered from one set of footswitches. Simple loop strips shorten the live signal path; programmable systems store combinations as presets and may send MIDI commands or change amplifier channels. Loop count, buffer placement, stereo support, spillover and routing flexibility define the system.

Tags

MIDI

Sends, receives or responds to Musical Instrument Digital Interface messages rather than carrying the instrument audio itself. Program changes recall presets, continuous controllers move parameters, and MIDI clock or transport messages synchronise timing between devices.

Presets

Stores complete groups of parameter values for later recall. The number of locations, switching time, spillover behaviour and whether presets include routing, expression and MIDI assignments determine how completely one sound can change into another.
