Let us welcome the Eventide Riptide Overdrive 7 Univibe pedal! The riptide is part of the Dot9 range of Eventide stompboxes.

The Riptide pedal is the result of thorough research into overdrives and Uni-vibes. The pedal has stereo overdrive and Vibe, each effect features dual voicings versatile enough for funky bright tones to explosive and warm lead tones.

The Vibe

The Vibe knob delivers classic Hendrix-style Uni-Vibe to full-on vibrato. With the power to engage each effect individually, swap the order, and store presets, the Riptide makes it the perfect platform to experiment.

The Drive

Drive features a balanced distortion with superb dynamics and touch sensitivity. Use the “Green” voicing for a classic transparent overdrive or activate the “Red” voicing for a tight modern overdrive.

Key Features

  • Stereo Sound – The pedal has multiple inputs to be able to run the effects in a stereo setting, to create real sonic resonance.

Overdrive Pedals

Overdrive pedals add warmth, grit and amplifier-like breakup to your guitar tone. They can be used as a light always-on tone enhancer, a bluesy crunch box, a mid-focused solo boost or a way to push a valve amp into richer saturation.

Different overdrive circuits have very different personalities, from transparent low-gain pedals to classic mid-hump designs and heavier modern drives. They are one of the most important pedal types because they respond to picking dynamics, guitar volume and the character of your amplifier.

Overdrive

Overdrive pedals recreate the sound of an amplifier being pushed harder, adding warmth, breakup and sustain while still responding naturally to picking dynamics and guitar volume changes. They are one of the most important and widely used pedal types in modern guitar rigs.

Different overdrive circuits offer very different flavours, from transparent low-gain boost-style pedals through to mid-focused classic rock tones and heavier amp-like saturation.

Stereo

Stereo guitar pedals process left and right audio channels separately, creating a wider and more spacious sound than a standard mono setup. Stereo delay, reverb and modulation effects are especially popular for ambient, cinematic and modern live rigs where depth and movement are an important part of the tone.

Running a stereo setup can dramatically change the feel of a guitar rig, particularly through two amplifiers, studio monitors or headphones. Ping-pong delays, wide choruses and immersive reverbs all benefit from stereo operation and can create a much larger soundstage.
