HI POWER is Crazy Tube Circuits' next endeavor in pedal & amp-in-a-box overdrives. This pedal recreates legendary sounds, following the success of the Crossfire and Unobtanium. It was inspired by the sonic combination of two British tone machines. The almighty Colorsound Power Boost pedal meets the blistering high-headroom Hiwatt amplifier!

On the left side of the HI POWER pedal, you will find an all-analogue circuit set out to emulate the sound and feel of a Hiwatt amp. Following the path of the famed British tube amplifier, the circuit offers authentic amp tones and feel resembling guitar tones from guitar greats like David Gilmour, Pete Townsend, Jimmy Page, and Noel Gallagher to name a few.

The right-hand side of the pedal is a faithful reproduction of the Colorsound Power Boost and Overdrive Circuits.

While the combination of these two units directly hints at the gear setup of David Gilmour and especially the gear used on Pink Floyd’s album: Wish You Were Here (think the guitar solo sounds of “Shine on You Crazy Diamond”, “Have A Cigar”) the sonic options are endless.

Key Features

  • Passive Effects Loop – The pedal includes a passive effects loop to give you the option to connect your beloved pedals between your booster/overdrive and amp in a box or use the two sections as separate and independent effects when using an external bypass switcher/looper.
  • Controllable EQ – Dial in the full EQ section along with a presence control located at the negative feedback of the power amp simulation circuit to control the level of EQ needed.
  • Headroom Toggle Switch – A headroom toggle switch selects between the high headroom 100w power section provided by a quartet of EL34s (think Hiwatt DR103), or the lower headroom and compression provided by a 50W power section with a pair of EL34s when hit hard (think DR504).

Tasty Pedals made by Crazy

Just Pedal Ingredients.

Amplifier — An amplifier is the heart of your sound, taking the tiny signal from your guitar and turning it into something powerful enough to fill a room. It shapes your tone, adds warmth, grit, and dynamics, and works hand in hand with your pedals to bring out their character. Whether it’s a clean valve amp that sparkles like glass or a roaring stack that growls with attitude, your amp is the main course — everything else on your board is there to complement its flavour.. Dual. Guitar Pedals — Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone. These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food, once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all. Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar.. New — This is brand new, fresh in, and a UK warranty is included. Very Popular!. Overdrive — Like a golden layer of melted cheese — warm, gooey, and just put it all over. It adds just the right amount of richness and grit, turning a clean signal into something smooth and savoury. Designed to mimic the natural breakup of a tube amp pushed to its sweet spot, overdrive delivers the flavour of classic rock and blues in every bite. From creamy mid-gain warmth to crisp edge-of-breakup sparkle, it’s the comfort food of guitar tone — simple, satisfying, and endlessly versatile. Whether it’s a mild crunch or a full-bodied roar, overdrive is where good taste begins.. Power — In the world of guitar effects pedals, power is the vital lifeblood that brings each stompbox to life. A reliable power supply provides the energy required for pedals to activate their circuits, shape and process audio signals, and deliver the tones players rely on. Just as with any electronic system, stable power ensures consistent performance, free from unwanted noise or signal dropouts. For portable setups, power supplies also support battery charging and storage, keeping rigs flexible and ready for use anywhere. Ultimately, a good power source is fundamental to a pedalboard’s functionality, ensuring every effect operates as intended and allowing guitarists to explore their full creative potential.. Tube — Tube-sounding guitar effect pedals are celebrated for their ability to replicate the warm, rich, and dynamic tones associated with classic vacuum tube amplifiers. These pedals emulate the natural harmonic distortion and compression produced by tube circuitry, which adds depth and character to the guitar’s sound. This results in a more organic and engaging tone with a pleasingly smooth overdrive that many musicians find desirable. The warmth and complexity of tube emulation can enhance both subtle nuances and powerful lead tones, making it ideal for genres that favour vintage or classic sounds. Tube-sounding pedals often provide greater responsiveness to playing dynamics, allowing for expressive performance variations based on how hard or softly you play. This dynamic sensitivity ensures that the pedal’s effect adjusts naturally with your playing style, preserving the nuances of your technique. The harmonic richness and clarity achieved through these pedals offer a more detailed and full-bodied sound, which helps in achieving a distinctive tone that stands out in both live performances and studio recordings. Despite the higher cost and occasional maintenance needs, the unique tonal qualities of tube-sounding pedals make them a favoured choice for guitarists seeking an authentic and versatile sound..
