You can put a compressor right at the beginning of your signal chain to tighten things. If you are looking for a low noise optical compressor, it is a good choice for the Yellow Comp. Effective EQ Sweep – Allows you to dial your tone as you like, helping you dial the tone and you don't have to turn the volume knob much to match your raw volume. If you like it having an equalization control, you can add or remove some high/low frequencies from the front.
