MOOER entered the music-gear market in 2010 with miniature guitar effects pedals, conceived by four music-and-technology enthusiasts in Shenzhen, China. The company later expanded into preamp pedals, amp modelling, impulse-response loaders and multi-effects, including the GE200 and RADAR IR Loader. JustPedals listings show the compact effects side of the range: Reecho digital delay, Green Mile overdrive, Liquid Phaser, Triangolo tremolo and Pure Boost. MOOER’s small enclosures are a design choice, not a guide to how much control a model offers; check its modes, switching and power needs individually.

Compression Pedals

Compression pedals even out playing dynamics by reducing loud peaks and lifting or sustaining the average level. They can make clean picking more consistent, add snap to rhythm parts, tighten bass or increase sustain into an overdrive. Attack and release determine how much pick transient remains; ratio, threshold, blend and output gain control the balance between subtle control and an obvious effect. Compression can also raise noise and reduce touch contrast, so compare the controls and metering with the rest of the signal chain in mind.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact devices placed in the signal path to change level, tone, dynamics, pitch, time, modulation or routing. This broad category includes simple analogue effects, digital processors, switching and utility products, so the most important differences are the circuit function and connection method. Check whether a model expects instrument or line level, how it is powered, whether it preserves bass or stereo information, and how its bypass behaves with the rest of the board.

Compressor

Narrows dynamic range by reducing gain when the signal crosses a level threshold. Attack preserves or softens the initial pick transient, release shapes the recovery, ratio controls the strength of reduction, and blend restores uncompressed detail alongside sustain and level consistency.

EQ

Raises or lowers defined frequency regions. Fixed-band graphic controls provide direct visual shaping, while parametric controls vary centre frequency and bandwidth; the available range and filter width determine whether the change is broad tonal balance or narrow corrective filtering.

Mini Pedal

Uses a reduced-width enclosure to conserve pedalboard space. The smaller format can limit battery access, footswitch spacing and the number or size of controls, while side-mounted sockets and power placement determine how much space is actually saved once connected.

True Bypass

Connects input directly to output through mechanical or relay switching when the effect is off, removing the active circuit from the audio path. It avoids buffer colour but leaves cable capacitance and switching design to influence high-frequency loss and possible switching noise.

Volume

Volume products provide foot-controlled level changes from a full mute to a gradual swell or solo lift. Passive designs interact with source impedance and can alter the high end; active designs may preserve the response but require power. Placement before gain changes how hard the next stage is driven, while placement after gain behaves more like a master level. Check taper, minimum-volume adjustment, travel, impedance and stereo support.
