BOSS AW-3 DYNAMIC WAH

The AW3 is the most sophisticated autowah ever. Add some funk and some wow to your performance without so much as flexing your ankle. The AW3 boasts a number of wah tones that you will recognise from class records, a unique humaniser effect to emulate vowel sounds, an expression pedal input (for traditional control of the wah using your foot) and a bass guitar input, since Boss know that bassists love a bit of the funk as well!

As you probably know, Boss pedals have a reputation for being built like brick outhouses! You can be pretty sure that however much you drop it, kick it, throw it and jump on it, it will still come back for more punishment! These pedals constantly survive the rigors of rock ‘n’ roll touring, and that’s why they’re seen at the feet of top touring pros everywhere. Reliability really can be affordable to all, and Boss are so sure that their compact stomps will last that they cover them with a full five year warranty.

Here’s what Boss say about the AW3

The BOSS AW-3 Dynamic Wah pedal gives guitarists a wide range of classic auto-wah and dynamic wah effects, plus a new “Humanizer” effect which can simulate human vowel sounds. A Bass input provides a variety of funky wah sounds for bass guitar.

  • Compact pedal creates a variety of classic “wah” effects
  • Dynamic wah sounds provide variable effect based on picking strength
  • “Humanizer” effect creates human voice-type vowel sounds
  • Dedicated Bass input for processing bass guitar
  • EXP Pedal mode allows wah control via optional expression pedal
  • Tempo can be set for pedal control or at fixed rate via Manual mode
  • BOSS 5-year warranty

A Talking Pedal

The AW-3 Dynamic Wah is the first compact wah pedal to incorporate human voice-type sounds through a new Humanizer Mode. Of course, you can also choose from standard up-and-down wah effects, plus a Tempo Mode and resonant synth-like Sharp Mode.

Endless Possibilities

Choose from both fixed and auto wah settings using the Manual control or pedal for tempo input. By connecting an optional expression pedal, the AW-3 can also be used for Pedal Wah effects. A dedicated Bass input permits direct processing of bass guitars.

Just Pedal Ingredients.

Dynamic. Pedal — Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone. These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food — once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all. Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar.. Wah — A wah pedal is one of the most expressive tools a guitarist can use, creating that classic “wah-wah” sound by sweeping through frequencies as you move the foot pedal. It acts like a dynamic tone filter, emphasising different parts of the frequency range to make your guitar almost sing. This makes it great for funk rhythms, blues solos, and psychedelic leads, giving your playing a human, vocal-like character that reacts directly to your movement. From the vintage tones of Jimi Hendrix and Clapton to modern rock and metal, the wah remains a timeless effect. It can be used subtly to shape tone or dramatically to cut through a mix with rhythmic sweeps. Many modern wahs also offer adjustable Q, range, and boost options, allowing you to fine-tune their response. A good wah pedal becomes a true extension of your playing style, adding expression, energy, and soul to every note..
