Fender have made it clear with their pedal range that they’re not afraid to push the boundaries. Enter the Pour Over, a unique stompbox that combines envelope filter and distortion in spectacular fashion.

Dirty funk chops in a box

Fender have distilled the classic envelope filter effect into an accessible guitar pedal format. What sets it apart from the competition is a simple set of versatile controls. You’ve got three filter modes to choose from; low pass, band bass and high pass. Then there’s the up/down toggle, letting you choose how you want the envelope to sound when you strike the strings.

The Pour Over’s secret weapon, however, is the built in distortion circuit. Toggle it on/off whenever you fancy, and you’ll get a powerful layer of grit on top. Great for making popping leads stand out, or going full fizz with your funky lead lines. The Freq and Q controls allow you to further tap into the weirder end of the envelope spectrum.

Durable, reliable, intuitive

As with the rest of Fender’s pedal offerings, the Pour Over is crafted from lightweight, durable anodized aluminium, and the Amp Jewel LED gives your pedalboard the classic Fender look. The switchable LED-backlit knobs show your control settings on a dark stage at a glance – the Pour Over is stage & studio-ready.

Distortion Pedals

Distortion pedals create a heavier, more aggressive gain sound than most overdrive pedals, giving guitarists the sustain, bite and saturation needed for rock, punk, metal and hard-hitting lead tones. They can turn a clean amp into a high-gain platform or add an extra layer of intensity to an already driven sound.

Some distortion pedals are tight and modern, while others are raw, fizzy or vintage-inspired. Choosing the right one depends on whether you want chunky rhythm tones, singing sustain, scooped metal sounds or a classic hard-rock voice with plenty of attack.

Distortion

Distortion pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Many players build pedalboards gradually over time, combining different effects and utilities to create a setup that suits their own sound and workflow. Distortion related gear can play an important role in both live performance and studio recording.
