Unlike an audio volume pedal, an expression pedal normally sends a control voltage or resistance through a TRS or model-specific connection. Compatibility depends on socket wiring, resistance range, polarity and the assignment available in the host product. Travel, minimum and maximum calibration and mechanical feel also matter underfoot. Check the receiving pedal’s manual before buying; an expression pedal is not automatically universal because the plug fits.
