Walrus Audio are revered for their boutique-style pedals and eye-catching graphics and have become a major force in the guitar pedal market in recent years. Constantly pushing the boundaries of stompbox design, Walrus Audio provide a solid platform on which to work and are inspirational and practical in equal measure. The all-new Canvas is Walrus Audio's first foray into DI boxes, with mono and stereo versions available.

The Canvas Stereo is a dual-purpose line isolator and DI box and works by converting your unbalanced signal into a balanced signal for seamless integration with a recording interface or front of house mixing desk. Housed in a familiar stompbox sized chassis, the Canvas Stereo fits perfectly on your pedalboard and is fully passive, which means it does not require power! The Canvas Stereo features two modes of operation: DI mode and LI mode. DI mode is optimised for high impedance sound sources such as electric guitars or basses. LI mode is designed for low impedance line-level sound sources including amp sims and keyboards. A built-in 15dB input pad (DI mode only) minimises distortion on hotter signals, for complete rig versatility.

Key Features

  • Passive Line Isolator and Direct Injection device
  • Converts ¼” unbalanced input to XLR balanced output
  • For interfacing with your recording interface or FOH mixer
  • Works perfectly with amp-in-a-box devices e.g. Walrus Audio ACS1
  • Stompbox format for easy integration on pedalboards
  • Choose between DI-or Line-Isolator-Mode
  • Flat frequency response from 20Hz-20kHz
  • Custom wound transformers for low THD and full frequency response
  • Transformer isolated output
  • Sum switch – When disengaged (out), the left input connects to the left thru. The right input connects to the right thru allowing the use of stereo amplifiers. When engaged (in), Sum connects the left and right thru jacks together to combine the signals for running into a single amplifier (use either thru jack)
  • Pad: Enabled a -15dB input pad (only in D.I. mode) to minimize distortion
  • GND Lift: Isolates GND pin on XLR to reduce hum
  • Passive design – no power required
  • Made in the USA

Guitar Effects Pedals

Guitar Effects Pedals is a useful category for players looking to shape their guitar or bass sound in a more focused way. Products in this area can help with tone, control, routing, performance or creative sound design depending on the exact type of gear involved.

For anyone building a pedalboard, guitar effects pedals options can help fill a specific gap in the signal chain or open up new sounds that are difficult to achieve with an amp alone. They are worth exploring when you want a more personal, flexible and practical setup.

Stereo

Stereo guitar pedals process left and right audio channels separately, creating a wider and more spacious sound than a standard mono setup. Stereo delay, reverb and modulation effects are especially popular for ambient, cinematic and modern live rigs where depth and movement are an important part of the tone.

Running a stereo setup can dramatically change the feel of a guitar rig, particularly through two amplifiers, studio monitors or headphones. Ping-pong delays, wide choruses and immersive reverbs all benefit from stereo operation and can create a much larger soundstage.
