Valeton

Valeton grew out of a team with more than a decade of experience designing and building musical-instrument products for other brands, then developed its own range of performance-focused gear. Its line spans compact stompboxes, combined effects, loopers, pedal switchers and modelling processors. The GP-200 is a detailed example: Valeton specifies more than 140 amp and cabinet simulations, over 100 stompbox effects, USB audio, MIDI and an expression pedal. JustPedals also lists the VLP-200 stereo looper and EP-2 Surge expression pedal. Valeton’s strengths are easiest to judge by the specific platform and connections, not the word “pedal” alone.

Guitar pedals are compact devices placed in the signal path to change level, tone, dynamics, pitch, time, modulation or routing. This broad category includes simple analogue effects, digital processors, switching and utility products, so the most important differences are the circuit function and connection method. Check whether a model expects instrument or line level, how it is powered, whether it preserves bass or stereo information, and how its bypass behaves with the rest of the board.

Looper Pedals

A looper records a passage and plays it back repeatedly so additional parts can be overdubbed over the cycle. Loop length, audio quality, storage and the number of independent tracks define the basic capability. Undo, quantisation, synchronisation, rhythm guides, reverse and half-speed functions determine how recordings can be corrected, transformed and aligned with other equipment.
