Valeton

Valeton grew out of a team with more than a decade of experience designing and building musical-instrument products for other brands, then developed its own range of performance-focused gear. Its line spans compact stompboxes, combined effects, loopers, pedal switchers and modelling processors. The GP-200 is a detailed example: Valeton specifies more than 140 amp and cabinet simulations, over 100 stompbox effects, USB audio, MIDI and an expression pedal. JustPedals also lists the VLP-200 stereo looper and EP-2 Surge expression pedal. Valeton’s strengths are easiest to judge by the specific platform and connections, not the word “pedal” alone.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact devices placed in the signal path to change level, tone, dynamics, pitch, time, modulation or routing. This broad category includes simple analogue effects, digital processors, switching and utility products, so the most important differences are the circuit function and connection method. Check whether a model expects instrument or line level, how it is powered, whether it preserves bass or stereo information, and how its bypass behaves with the rest of the board.

Looper Pedals

A looper records a passage and plays it back repeatedly so additional parts can be overdubbed over the cycle. Loop length, audio quality, storage and the number of independent tracks define the basic capability. Undo, quantisation, synchronisation, rhythm guides, reverse and half-speed functions determine how recordings can be corrected, transformed and aligned with other equipment.

Multi-Effects Pedals

A multi-effects processor combines several effect algorithms and signal-routing stages in one unit. Its sound depends not only on the individual models but on their order, parallel or serial routing, processing resolution and available control. Preset structure, switching gaps, foot control, expression assignment, amp or cabinet modelling, USB audio and MIDI determine how completely the processor can replace separate pedals.

Expression

Expression products provide hands-free control over a compatible parameter such as volume, wah, delay mix or modulation depth. The wiring, resistance range, connector type and control assignment are not universal. Check whether the connected unit expects TS or TRS, which parameters can be mapped, whether the socket supplies power and how much travel is available. A stable pedal and a predictable sweep matter more than the label alone when precise control is needed.

Looper

Records audio into a repeating cycle and permits new layers to be overdubbed over it. Maximum loop time, track count, undo depth, storage and synchronisation define how the layers can be built, corrected and aligned.

multi effects

Multi-effects products combine several processing blocks, such as drive, modulation, delay, reverb, pitch and amp modelling, in one unit. The available effects list is only part of the decision: compare simultaneous blocks, signal path, preset and scene recall, footswitch assignments, expression, MIDI, USB, latency and direct outputs. A compact unit can suit travel or backup, while a larger model may act as the centre of a complete amplifier or recording setup.
