Tone City

TONECITY was founded in 2014 to make guitar pedals, pedal power supplies and related products. Its chief designer, J. Wong, has played guitar and designed pedals for much of his working life. The catalogue covers overdrive, distortion, fuzz, delay, chorus, reverb, phaser, tremolo and boost, alongside board power. JustPedals listings include the Angel Wing chorus, Model M distortion, Wild Fire distortion, Fuxx fuzz and All Spark boost. The range combines compact tone-shaping pedals with practical rig equipment, so the model’s named effect and role are more useful guides than a broad brand label.

Delay & Reverb Pedals

Delay and reverb are combined here because both create a sense of time and space but do so differently. Delay produces distinct repeats; reverb builds a dense field of reflections around the note. Dual-effect designs may run the sections in series or parallel, synchronise them to tempo and allow separate routing, so the interaction can range from a short room with a single echo to long, evolving ambient trails.

The signal is shaped by continuously varying electronic circuitry rather than being converted into a digital effect algorithm. Component choice, operating voltage and circuit tolerances influence headroom, noise, clipping texture and the small variations in response between designs.

True Bypass

Connects input directly to output through mechanical or relay switching when the effect is off, removing the active circuit from the audio path. It avoids buffer colour but leaves cable capacitance and switching design to influence high-frequency loss and possible switching noise.
