Description

The TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive is currently retailing at £49 and it is in stock. Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Just Pedals think that TC Electronic nailed it with the TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive.

Guitarists looking for a bit of mojo need not look any further. the tc electronic mojomojo overdrive puts some of the magic distortion dust from the tc factory which bought you pedals like the novadrive, and puts it in a compact, true bypass box.

with a tube like sound, bass and treble eq and the choice between two overdrive voicings, the mojomojo gives you a host of overdrive sounds within one pedal which is as responsive and dynamic as a real tube amp.

here’s what tc electronic say about the mojomojo overdrive

mojomojo overdrive is the overdrive pedal that will breathe life, magic and that certain something into your sound, making your playing stand out. guitarists everywhere are always looking for that little extra push over the cliff, a touch of magic to their sound that gives just that extra bit of bite, body and tone. mojomojo overdrive will give you that flash of perfection every time you engage it, providing a crisp and clear overdrive with a rock-solid bottom end.

a sweet blues lead, an extra chunky rhythm tone or a soaring solo, it’s all there – and then some. mojomojo overdrive is equipped with separate bass and treble controls and a bass-response voice toggle that prevents your bass frequencies from ever disappearing when you step on the pedal. for maximum mojo, mojomojo overdrive features true bypass, an easy-access battery hatch, a small footprint and the highest-grade components.

fine design

designing mojomojo overdrive was both very simple and very complex. we knew what we wanted from the start: a pedal that sounds like an amp, a very open character and little compression. we wanted the pedal to be alive, have an attitude and pick up on the subtleties of your playing in a dynamic way. to add to the challenge, we didn’t go for the sound of any old amp, mojomojo overdrive needed to give you that sweet, glassy and purely musical cranked tweed sound. we basically set out to capture lightning in a bottle with a clarity that even allowed for complex chords to stand out. we wanted to deliver the magic, spine-shivering feeling of an amplifier working hard and delivering pure valve tone.

also, we recognized that adding an overdrive isn’t simple for tone-conscious guitarists. anyone can slam a pedal onto their board and hope for the best, but we know what it’s like to spend countless hours sculpting your own sound. and when adding an overdrive, the last thing you want is for the tone to change. we set out to deliver a pedal that adds new stages of crunch, but leaves your tone alone, just like a great overdrive pedal should. in other words, mojomojo overdrive is like adding another channel to your amp and it will sound like it always belonged there.

so far for the simple part. the complex part came in designing the pedals. we are excited to say we solved the puzzle, and that the result is simply astounding.

Overdrive

Overdrive is a popular guitar effect that creates a warm, distorted sound by amplifying the signal of an electric guitar, typically using a pedal or an amp’s built-in circuit. The effect simulates the natural distortion that occurs when a tube amplifier is pushed to its limit, creating a rich, harmonic response that adds sustain, warmth, and character to the tone. Overdrive pedals are commonly used to add grit and growl to a clean tone without the harshness of full distortion.

The overdrive effect works by boosting the input signal, causing the amplifier to break up and clip the waveform, resulting in a smooth, musical distortion. This is often more subtle and less aggressive than other forms of distortion, making overdrive pedals ideal for blues, classic rock, and country players who seek a dynamic sound that responds to their playing touch. Overdrive pedals can be used in conjunction with other effects like delay and reverb to shape a more complex, evolving sound. Popular overdrive pedals include the Ibanez Tube Screamer, the Fulltone OCD, and the Boss OD-3, each offering different tonal characteristics, from smooth and bluesy to punchy and aggressive.
