Description

The TC Electronic Fluorescence Shimmer Reverb Pedal is currently retailing at £79 and it is preorder. Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Just Pedals think that TC Electronic nailed it with the TC Electronic Fluorescence Shimmer Reverb Pedal.

The choir of angels effect! Shimmer reverbs turn a single note on your guitar into a cavernous expanse filled with a thousand voices singing in harmony. Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration but you get the picture!

As with the rest of the Sonic Specialist range, the Flourescence boasts simple controls that allow a multitude of great sounds. Shimmer controls the level of the octave signal, while tone allows you to dial it dark and ominous or bright and sparkly. This compact & affordable addition to your pedalboard will add anything from a subtle textured ambience to a full-blown swirling soundscape – and everything in between. What's not to love?

Here's what TC Electronic Have To Say About the Flourescence:

Shimmer reverb is one of those effects that you have to hear for yourself before you really know what it is.

Originally pioneered by recording legends Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno, shimmer is produced by layering a tail of reverb that is pitched up an octave and sent through a feedback loop on top of the dry signal.

This produces lush soundscapes that take on a life of their known, ranging from voluptuous chimes, to interstellar travel-like sounds that will evoke memories of Carl Sagan's Cosmos while you're playing.

Pedal

A pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of an electric guitar by applying various effects. Pedals are typically connected in a series between the guitar and amplifier, allowing guitarists to switch effects on and off with their feet while playing.

This enables musicians to quickly and easily change their sound, adding versatility and creativity to their performances.

Pedals are essential tools in many musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and metal, allowing artists to craft distinctive and dynamic soundscapes.

Once you buy one, you can’t stop and then you have to sell them and buy more.

Reverb

Reverb simulates the natural echoes and reflections of sound in different spaces, adding depth and atmosphere to a guitar’s tone. It can range from short, subtle room reverbs to large, ambient cathedral-like spaces. Common types of reverb include spring reverb (found in vintage amplifiers), plate reverb (a smooth studio-style effect), and shimmer reverb (which adds ethereal, harmonised overtones). Reverb is essential in many genres, from surf rock and blues to shoegaze and ambient music. Popular reverb pedals include the Boss RV-6, Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail, and Strymon BigSky, offering everything from classic warmth to expansive soundscapes.
