One Control Blue Bee OD 4K Mini Custom is a limited custom version of Blue Bee OD 4K Mini, an overdrive that combines transparent amp-like overdrive with more gain than the other pedals in our Bee series. The Blue Bee OD 4K Mini Custom adds more thickness than the normal version, especially with single coil pickups in mind.

The One Control Blue Bee OD 4K Mini is a legendary amp-like pedal and one of the most famous BJFE overdrives, a custom model based on the Honey Bee OD. It is a gained-up version of overdrive, with features that many players had requested from BJF after playing the original Honey Bee OD.

Although the BBOD4K is a mini size pedal that can be installed without taking up space on various pedal boards, BJF’s own long-standing research has made it possible to reproduce the original tone, even with small SMD parts. The design method is different between the conventional handmade pedals that use through-hole parts and the mini style pedals. In the mini pedal, there is an influence of “ghost components” that do not exist as “parts” and do not appear on the circuit, so if you simply make it with the same schematic, the sound will be different. BJF reproduced the sound of the BJFE original pedal, considering all the effects from the characteristics of the parts to the ghost components. The result is a mini-size pedal that satisfies BJF himself. And we also use the art style of BJFE for the pedal design.

The characteristics of a flat low end reminiscent of the American-style combo amplifier and the tone created by the sharp and tight top end remain the same, with an added overtone component and more gain. It’s a tone that seems to be one step closer to modern than our Silver Bee OD. Although the distortion itself is strong, it is a superb tone that manages to balance the transparency and gain.

The 2-band equalizer has a wide range, and you can easily control the balance of your tone. The smoothness of responsiveness to the controls also leads to ease of use. The T-knob can control the brightness of the tone, both high-frequency components and overtone components, and create a drive tone with a beautiful metallic sound. The B knob is centred on critical frequencies in the low mid and can be adjusted according to the characteristics of the stage, the amplifier, and the guitar.

The Blue Bee has a tone with a little thickness added to it while having the expressive power to control the tone easily with your fingers, bringing added gain and articulation with playing strength.

Their product lineup includes a range of effects such as overdrives, distortions, and amp-in-a-box designs. One Control pedals are particularly known for their versatility, providing different tones and textures within a small footprint. Pedals like the Strawberry Red Overdrive and the Lingonberry Overdrive are highly regarded for their ability to cover a wide range of gain levels, from bluesy overdrive to medium-gain distortion.

In addition to individual effect pedals, One Control also produces loop switchers and multi-purpose devices, such as the Minimal Series TRI LOOP, which enhances the flexibility of guitar setups. These tools are designed for musicians who need to manage complex pedalboards or integrate effects seamlessly into their performances.

Distortion

Distortion pedals take your clean guitar signal and transform it into something bigger, bolder, and full of attitude. By clipping the waveform, they add sustain, bite, and aggression, creating that thick, compressed tone that’s powered rock music for decades. From the growling crunch of classic hard rock to the tight, saturated roar of modern metal, distortion is all about energy and presence. It gives every note weight and authority, pushing your amp to its limits and beyond.

There are countless flavours of distortion, each with its own texture and edge. Some sound smooth and creamy, others raw and gnarly like tearing fabric. It’s the sonic equivalent of turning up the heat until the sound cooks — rich, sizzling, and perfectly seasoned to taste. Whether used for rhythm muscle or soaring leads, a good distortion pedal doesn’t just add volume; it adds personality, grit, and that unmistakable sense of power under your fingers.

Overdrive

Like a golden layer of melted cheese — warm, gooey, and just put it all over. It adds just the right amount of richness and grit, turning a clean signal into something smooth and savoury. Designed to mimic the natural breakup of a tube amp pushed to its sweet spot, overdrive delivers the flavour of classic rock and blues in every bite. From creamy mid-gain warmth to crisp edge-of-breakup sparkle, it’s the comfort food of guitar tone — simple, satisfying, and endlessly versatile. Whether it’s a mild crunch or a full-bodied roar, overdrive is where good taste begins.

Volume

Volume pedals control the output level of a guitar signal using a foot-operated treadle. They allow smooth volume swells, dynamic control during playing, and easy muting between songs. Volume pedals can be placed at different points in the signal chain to either control overall loudness or adjust gain and drive behaviour when positioned before distortion or overdrive pedals.
