The NUX Optima Air is a dual-switch acoustic simulator for acoustic and electric guitar players. It simulates acoustic guitar profiles, optimised sound depending on the guitar and the pickups you are using. The impulse response combines with a preamp, including 3-band EQ and gain controls gives you a whole host of different effects for you to experiment and discover new sonic capabilities.

NUX Optima Air is equipped with a pre-amp that allows you to enhance your sound by using a 3-band equalizer. The beauty of an analogue circuit is that chaos makes the muse. While you tweak the knob, it affects itself as well as other parameters.

Category

Specialist Effects Pedals

Specialist effects alter the signal in ways that do not sit cleanly inside one established family. They may use granular processing, frequency shifting, resonators, freeze or sustain, bit reduction, ring modulation, feedback networks or combinations of several techniques. The relevant distinction is the underlying process, its tracking or latency, and how completely the dry signal can be blended or replaced.

Tags

Acoustic

Voiced for the wider dynamics, strong transient detail and pickup characteristics of acoustic instruments. High input impedance, phase reversal, notch filtering and restrained processing help preserve body resonance while controlling piezo harshness and feedback. Balanced outputs may also carry the corrected signal directly to a mixer or interface.

Analogue

The signal is shaped by continuously varying electronic circuitry rather than being converted into a digital effect algorithm. Component choice, operating voltage and circuit tolerances influence headroom, noise, clipping texture and the small variations in response between designs.

Digital

Converts the signal or control process into numerical data for algorithmic processing. Digital designs can provide precise timing, long memory, complex routing and repeatable presets; sample rate, conversion, internal resolution and latency influence fidelity and response.

Presets

Stores complete groups of parameter values for later recall. The number of locations, switching time, spillover behaviour and whether presets include routing, expression and MIDI assignments determine how completely one sound can change into another.

USB

Provides a Universal Serial Bus connection for power, audio, MIDI, firmware or editing data. The supported USB class and connector do not by themselves show its purpose; channel count, sample format, host compatibility and power demand define the actual function.
