The Reissue series ’59 Bassguy pedal captures the tones of the classic 1959 tweed tube amp that is the forerunner of many other amp designs, providing the original crunch tones heard on classic rock and pop songs for over 5 decades.

Key Features

  • Classic Tweed Style Overdrive Tones
  • Jump Switch To Emulate Channel Jumping

Gain and Master controls provide a smooth transition from clean to fully overdriven sounds with adjustable level to further drive the input of a guitar amplifier channel for extra gain. A single Tone control lets you tailor the brightness or warmth of the output.

True to the classic amp design, the 59 Bassguy has a Jump switch to emulate the use of a jumper lead to blen both bright and normal channels to offer yet another style of overdrive. For the amp choice of session players since the birth of rock and pop, the 59 Bassguy has the full range of this definitive amp character on tap

Overdrive Pedals

Overdrive uses soft or moderate clipping to add harmonics and compression while retaining more of the original note shape than heavy distortion. Some circuits emphasise the midrange and trim bass before clipping; others remain broad, transparent or amplifier-like. Gain, clipping arrangement, headroom and tone filtering decide whether it supplies a light edge, a saturated drive sound or extra push into another gain stage.
