KMA Audio Machines combine premium German engineering with a genuine love for tone. With every pedal handmade in Berlin, KMA use only the best components available to ensure that their pedals deliver cutting-edge tones with plenty of flexibility.

Whilst taking inspiration from classic, vintage units, KMA design all of their own circuits to modern and forward-thinking standards. This means that players can enjoy pedals that offer incredible functionality and versatility.

Pure Modulated Soundscapes:

KMA’s Astrospurt delivers a range of dreamy phasing sounds, so if you love to get experimental with ambient soundscapes, we think you’ll love this! KMA Audio Machines’ own spin on the renowned four-stage JFET based phasing sound, the Astrospurt is a feature-packed pedal that provides you with amazing versatility and some truly unique sounds.

Versatile Controls:

With 5 controls, the Astrospurt is easy to tweak and can generate a vast range of sounds. The “Signal” control acts as a volume control, letting boost or cut the pedal’s overall output. The “Depth” and “Mix” controls let you adjust the intensity and amount of the effect respectively. This means that you can mix in the perfect amount of juicy modulation, going from a subtle and more transparent phaser sound to a crazy otherworldly place!

The switch on the left of the unit will let you engage the “Emphasis” control, which takes everything and flips it upside down! Increasing the control will add weird oscillations and noises, giving you an unpredictable range of tones to form the most chaotic of soundscapes. Mixed with a distortion or fuzz, and it’ll sound like you’re on the other side!

The large “Spurt” control will affect the phaser speed, letting you attain a slow and washy modulation or a fast flickering sound when cranked. We think that with all of these controls, the Astrospurt is one of the most fun phaser pedals available today!

Here’s what KMA Machines say about the Moai Maea Analog Octaver Pedal:

Time and Space are lost within the sound of the universe. Breath in and breath out, slow down and be ready for the Astrospurt. Fasten your seatbelt and get lost in the wide warm and soft soundscapes generated by this pedal. The Astrospurt is our approach on the classic four-stage JFET based phasing sound. We take this classic circuit and squeeze out everything we can do to give you a versatile and very easy to handle pedal.

We wanted to get rid of a fixed volume when engaging the pedal and implement a control to dial in the right amount of SIGNAL, either to boost or cut it. To give you a possibility for a more subtile phasing sound the Astrospurt has a DEPTH control, where you can choose between apronounced phase sound or a more slightly modulated signal. The Astrospurt won’t be just a phaser in particular. It covers all the spacy, dizzy and wobble sounds just on t

Pedal

A pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of an electric guitar by applying various effects. Pedals are typically connected in a series between the guitar and amplifier, allowing guitarists to switch effects on and off with their feet while playing.

This enables musicians to quickly and easily change their sound, adding versatility and creativity to their performances.

Pedals are essential tools in many musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and metal, allowing artists to craft distinctive and dynamic soundscapes.

Once you buy one, you can’t stop and then you have to sell them and buy more.

Phaser

A phaser is a type of guitar effects pedal that creates a swirling, sweeping sound by modulating the phase of the audio signal. It works by splitting the incoming signal into two paths, shifting the phase of one path, and then recombining them. This creates peaks and troughs in the frequency spectrum, resulting in a distinctive, “phasing” effect characterized by moving notches in the frequency response.

Here’s how a phaser pedal typically works and some common features:

1. **Rate**: The rate control adjusts the speed at which the phase-shifting effect oscillates. Increasing the rate produces faster modulation, creating a more pronounced swirling effect, while decreasing the rate slows down the modulation for a smoother, more subtle effect.

2. **Depth**: The depth control adjusts the intensity or depth of the phase-shifting effect. Higher depth settings result in more pronounced peaks and troughs in the frequency response, while lower settings produce a more subtle modulation.

3. **Feedback (or Regeneration)**: Some phaser pedals feature a feedback control that determines the amount of modulated signal fed back into the effect. Increasing the feedback creates more pronounced peaks and troughs in the frequency spectrum, resulting in a more intense and resonant phasing effect.

4. **Stages**: Phasers typically have multiple stages (usually four, six, or eight), each of which contributes to the overall phase-shifting effect. More stages generally result in a more complex and textured phasing sound.

5. **Sweep (or Manual)**: The sweep control adjusts the center frequency of the phase-shifting effect. This allows you to focus the phasing effect on specific frequency ranges, altering the tonal character of the modulation.

6. **Resonance (or Feedback)**: Some phaser pedals feature a resonance control that emphasizes the peaks and troughs in the frequency response, creating a more pronounced and resonant effect. This control can add richness and depth to the phasing sound.

Phaser pedals are commonly used in various music genres, including rock, funk, and psychedelic music, to add movement, depth, and texture to guitar tones. They can be used to create swirling, swirling effects on rhythm parts, add dynamics to lead lines, or create atmospheric textures for ambient music. Overall, phaser pedals offer guitarists a versatile tool for shaping their tone and adding expressive modulation effects to their playing.
