The Jim Dunlop CBM95 Cry Baby has been a center piece of the guitar world for many years. The only problem is that with guitarists rigs getting smaller and smaller the Cry Baby became a pain to carry around off your pedalboard. With that in mind Dunlop have gone and released the Cry Baby Mini at half the size of the regular Cry Baby it will easily fit on your pedalboard.

Full Range Wah

If you have used a Cry Baby you know that its distinctive voicing and sweep range that have become a must have. This smaller version does not skimp on tone or usability, in fact it has a couple of added features that your current full size Cry Baby may not have. Plus since it is loaded up with the legendary Fasel inductor you know you are getting something that will sound truly great.

Three Voicings

The CBM95 Cry Baby is based heavily on the current industry standard the GCB95 though you can use an internal switch to go to some more old school voicings. The low voicing focuses in the sound of the pedal to a smaller spectrum which is perfect for more subtle tones, while the vintage setting takes you back to the voicing of the original Cry Baby that can be heard on records throughout the 70’s and 80’s. Finally the GCB95 (modern) voicing is essentially the same as the current wah pedal that you will have heard in more recent albums.

True Bypass Switching

One thing people have always been asking for in a wah pedal is to make it true bypass and while some do have true bypass now not all of them do. This mini crybaby is not only one of the smallest wahs you can buy today but it is also the friendliest to your signal path and unaffected tone.

Baby. CBM95. Cry — Cry pedal refers to the iconic wah-style effect that mimics the human voice, producing a “crying” tone as you rock the pedal back and forth. Originating in the 1960s with the famous Cry Baby wah, this effect sweeps the guitar’s mid frequencies to create expressive, vocal-like sounds. It’s a favourite for funk rhythms, soulful solos, and psychedelic rock, adding movement and emotion to a player’s phrasing.. Dunlop. Guitar Pedals. Mini — It’s not big, its what you do with it. It is small but mighty, like the size of your weapon. stick it where you can hardly see it, you could put it in your pocket. A pedal pocket.. New. Wah — A wah pedal is one of the most expressive tools a guitarist can use, creating that classic “wah-wah” sound by sweeping through frequencies as you move the foot pedal. It acts like a dynamic tone filter, emphasising different parts of the frequency range to make your guitar almost sing. This makes it great for funk rhythms, blues solos, and psychedelic leads, giving your playing a human, vocal-like character that reacts directly to your movement. From the vintage tones of Jimi Hendrix and Clapton to modern rock and metal, the wah remains a timeless effect. It can be used subtly to shape tone or dramatically to cut through a mix with rhythmic sweeps. Many modern wahs also offer adjustable Q, range, and boost options, allowing you to fine-tune their response. A good wah pedal becomes a true extension of your playing style, adding expression, energy, and soul to every note..
