The Jim Dunlop CBM95 Cry Baby has been a center piece of the guitar world for many years. The only problem is that with guitarists rigs getting smaller and smaller the Cry Baby became a pain to carry around off your pedalboard. With that in mind Dunlop have gone and released the Cry Baby Mini at half the size of the regular Cry Baby it will easily fit on your pedalboard.

Full Range Wah

If you have used a Cry Baby you know that its distinctive voicing and sweep range that have become a must have. This smaller version does not skimp on tone or usability, in fact it has a couple of added features that your current full size Cry Baby may not have. Plus since it is loaded up with the legendary Fasel inductor you know you are getting something that will sound truly great.

Three Voicings

The CBM95 Cry Baby is based heavily on the current industry standard the GCB95 though you can use an internal switch to go to some more old school voicings. The low voicing focuses in the sound of the pedal to a smaller spectrum which is perfect for more subtle tones, while the vintage setting takes you back to the voicing of the original Cry Baby that can be heard on records throughout the 70’s and 80’s. Finally the GCB95 (modern) voicing is essentially the same as the current wah pedal that you will have heard in more recent albums.

True Bypass Switching

One thing people have always been asking for in a wah pedal is to make it true bypass and while some do have true bypass now not all of them do. This mini crybaby is not only one of the smallest wahs you can buy today but it is also the friendliest to your signal path and unaffected tone.

Guitar Pedals

Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone.

These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food, once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all.

Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar.

Wah

Wah refers to an expressive filter effect that sweeps through a range of frequencies, creating a vocal-like “wah” sound. Controlled in real time with a foot-operated treadle, it allows players to emphasise different parts of the frequency spectrum as they play. Wah pedals are commonly used for lead guitar, funk rhythm work, and expressive solos, responding closely to picking dynamics and foot movement.
