Earthquaker devices have never been content with normalcy or straight-up clones. The Plumes Small Signal Shredder is no different. Taking its inspiration from a little green box that shouted at tubes and then deciding there was a much more interesting and exciting way to go about accomplishing that illustrious tone its a simply stunning overdrive pedal. In essence this is a light to medium gain overdrive but that would be like saying Jimi Hendrix was just a guitarist. Put this box in front of your amp and listen to it truly open-up giving it a transparent vibe. But that isnt where this pedal ends. The Plumes includes three different clipping modes with varying amounts of gain symmetrical LED asymmetrical silicon and no diode OpAmp drive which all have wonderfully distinctive characters depending on your vibe.

Musician Jamie Stillman founded EarthQuaker Devices in 2004 after moving from pedal repair into circuit design. The first full-production release was the Hoof fuzz in 2007. The company develops its pedals in-house in Akron, Ohio, where it hand-builds and hand-tests them and backs them with a lifetime guarantee. Current JustPedals examples show the range’s practical and exploratory sides: Ghost Echo reverb, Data Corrupter harmonizer, Avalanche Run delay and reverb, and Rainbow Machine pitch shifting.
