Diamond Pedals proudly announces the launch of the Dark Cloud, an innovative delay pedal that represents the pinnacle of hybrid analog-digital design. Drawing on the company’s rich heritage in crafting exceptional analog effects, the Dark Cloud merges classic tone with cutting edge technology to deliver a delay pedal like no other.

At the heart of the Dark Cloud is Diamond’s revolutionary Digital Bucket Brigade Delay (dBBD) technology, which seamlessly blends the organic warmth of analog companding with the precise control of an embedded digital system. This unique architecture allows the Dark Cloud to deliver three distinct and creative delay modes (Tape, Harmonic and Reverse), each meticulously crafted to provide a wide range of sonic possibilities.

Where analog warmth meets digital precision, the Dark Cloud redefines delay effects to create a pedal like no other.

Key Features

  • Textural Delay Effects Pedal using Diamonds original digital Bucket Brigade Delay technology
  • Combines the sound and feel of analog Companding and Anti-Aliasing with an embedded system delay line
  • 3 delay styles: 1- Tape: a warm, saturated delay with synced modulation and up to 1000ms of delay time 2- Harmonic: creates either a delayed octave or fifth above the input signal 3- Reverse: plays a classic delay backward, offering a smooth and Lo-fi reversed delay with an expanded time range
  • Tap Tempo with quarter note, eighth note and dotted eighth subdivisions via dedicated footswitch
  • Doubler feature allows for instant or momentary doubling of the delay tempo
  • Selectable Trails or Kill modes when turning the pedal off
  • Top-mounted jacks and soft touch relay switching
  • Hand-made in Montreal, Canada
  • Powered by a regular 9V DC PSU (not supplied – requires centre – 2.1 mm, ~45 mA current draw)

The Dark Cloud holds special significance as the final project conceived by the original Diamond team before their closure. What began as a modest attempt to repurpose older designs evolved into a masterful blend of the company’s most beloved delay algorithms, combined with an entirely new Reverse Delay setting.

As a result, the Dark Cloud is essentially a “greatest hits” of Diamond’s delay technology, refined into one powerful pedal that pushes the boundaries of what delay effects can achieve.

Delay

A delay pedal records your signal and plays it back after a set time, creating echoes that can range from tight, slapback repeats to long, atmospheric trails. It’s one of the most versatile effects, used to thicken tones, add rhythmic depth, or build spacious, ambient layers. Analogue delays offer warm, decaying repeats that blend naturally with your tone, while digital units provide pristine echoes with precise control over time, feedback, and mix levels.

From classic rockabilly and tape-style echoes to modern looping and shimmer effects, delay pedals have become essential tools for shaping sound. They can make solos soar, rhythms pulse, or transform simple chord progressions into cinematic textures. Whether used subtly to add dimension or boldly to create soundscapes, a good delay pedal can completely redefine the feel and atmosphere of your music.

New

This is brand new, fresh in, and a UK warranty is included. New Gear always comes from trusted UK music retailers.

Octave

An octave pedal shifts your guitar signal up or down by one or more octaves, blending the altered pitch with your original sound to create a fuller, more complex tone. It can add a deep, bass-like layer underneath your playing or a shimmering high octave on top for lead lines and solos. Classic analogue octave pedals often produce slightly gritty, organic sounds, while modern digital versions track more precisely and can offer multiple octave ranges.

Octave pedals are great for thickening single-note riffs, creating synth-style textures, or even mimicking bass parts when playing alone. They pair well with fuzz or overdrive pedals for massive, harmonically rich tones. Whether you’re after vintage Hendrix-style octave fuzz or a modern polyphonic sound that tracks chords cleanly, an octave pedal opens up a world of creative possibilities and adds real weight and character to your tone.
