Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Just Pedals think that Darkglass Electronics nailed it with the Darkglass Microtubes X Multiband Bass Drive Pedal.

Boutique pedal company Darkglass have solved how to balance attack, tightness and fat bass guitar distortion with the Microtubes X.

They’ve found a unique way to solve the usual dilemma of sacrificing either high or low-end for a punchy sound. The Microtubes X multiband pedal makes it easy to obtain a great modern tone in a pedalboard-conscious format.

Features

Two variable low and high-pass filters at the beginning of the signal chain split the audio signal. Most mids and treble frequencies are distorted using common CMOS circuitry. This grants complete control over the richness, attack and crunch.

The lows are completely passed through, so they remain undistorted and free from tinny fuzz. You’re able to add huge weight to your tone whilst keeping it tight.

You have even more options using the mix and mids dials. Mix controls the blend between lows and highs, so you can adjust between a full range sound or extreme focus. Mids adds the all-important punchy presence heard in modern rock and metal.

Darkglass Electronics – Sculpting Tone for the Modern Bassist

Darkglass Electronics is a cutting-edge brand renowned for its powerful, high-gain bass pedals and amplifiers. Their products, like the B7K Ultra and Alpha-Omega, are designed to shape and redefine bass tone with precision, offering deep lows, aggressive midrange, and smooth top-end.

Known for their innovative designs and premium components, Darkglass pedals deliver a wide range of tonal options, from subtle overdrive to extreme distortion, while maintaining clarity and definition even at high volumes. Ideal for bassists seeking to push the boundaries of their sound, Darkglass combines modern innovation with legendary tone-shaping capabilities.

Bass

In the realm of guitar effects, “bass” pedals are designed specifically for bass guitars, enhancing their low-end frequencies and allowing bassists to shape their tone and explore new sonic possibilities. These pedals cater to the unique characteristics of the bass guitar and provide various effects to modify its sound. For instance, overdrive and distortion pedals add gain and saturation, giving the bass a gritty or distorted tone. Compression pedals help even out dynamics by smoothing out the volume of loud and soft notes, resulting in a consistent and punchy sound. EQ pedals enable bassists to sculpt their tone by boosting or cutting specific frequencies, allowing them to emphasize certain parts of the sound or compensate for room acoustics.

Other popular bass effects include envelope filters, which produce dynamic filter sweeps in response to playing dynamics, adding rhythmic groove to bass lines. Octave pedals generate harmonies one or two octaves below the original note, creating a fuller and more powerful sound. Modulation effects like chorus, flanger, and phaser add depth and movement by modulating the pitch or phase, creating swirling textures and enhancing the overall presence of the bass line. Lastly, delay and reverb pedals introduce ambience and spatial depth, adding echoes and reflections that enhance the sense of space in music. These diverse effects allow bassists to expand their sonic palette and express their creativity in numerous ways.

Drive

Drive is a type of effect that adds gain and distortion to your instrument’s signal, typically to create a warm, overdriven tone. It’s commonly used to push an amp or pedal beyond its clean capacity, producing a richer, more saturated sound. Drive pedals are known for offering a range of tones, from light and subtle overdrive to full-on distortion, depending on the settings.

Drive pedals generally have controls for gain (which determines how much distortion is applied), tone (which adjusts the bass, mids, and treble), and volume (to balance the output level). They’re essential for genres like rock, blues, and metal, where varying degrees of overdrive are needed to enhance the musical performance. Popular drive pedals like the Ibanez Tube Screamer, Pro Co Rat, and Fulltone OCD are celebrated for their versatility, allowing players to shape their sound with precision while maintaining the character of their instrument.

Pedal

A pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of an electric guitar by applying various effects. Pedals are typically connected in a series between the guitar and amplifier, allowing guitarists to switch effects on and off with their feet while playing.

This enables musicians to quickly and easily change their sound, adding versatility and creativity to their performances.

Pedals are essential tools in many musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and metal, allowing artists to craft distinctive and dynamic soundscapes.

Once you buy one, you can’t stop and then you have to sell them and buy more.
