The Luminal Booster Ultra pedal combines the rich tone of the Harmonic Booster with the precision of an adjustable frequency range parallel compression, offering bass players unmatched control. Featuring a 6-band EQ, a gain reduction meter, and the ability to load 7 custom Impulse Responses (IRs) via USB, it provides ultimate tonal flexibility for any genre. Whether you’re seeking a clean tone or a more powerful sound, this pedal gives you the precision to perfect your bass tone.

Luminal Booster Ultra Modes

The Luminal Booster Ultra adds versatility by allowing users to change the order of the Compression and Harmonic Booster engines. By long-pressing the left footswitch, users can toggle between blue mode and red mode for different tonal and compression effects.

Darkglass Suite Integration

The Darkglass Suite (desktop app) lets you load available IRs from the Darkglass library or add your own custom or third-party impulse responses to the pedal. You can also control the headphone output levels directly through the software.

Key Controls & Features:

  • Filter: Adjustable lowpass filter for the compressed signal.
  • Blend: Blends between the clean and compressed signal.
  • Comp: Adjusts the amount of compression applied.
  • Level: Adjusts the level of compression after the blend control.
  • Boost: +-20dB boost or cut.
  • Character: Blends in tone-shaping circuitry and allows selection between 7 IRs.
  • Mid Gain: +-20dB adjustment at the frequency selected by the Mid Frequency.
  • Mid Frequency: Adjustable from 250Hz to 2.5kHz.
  • Master: Sets the overall volume of the unit with +-12dB adjustment.
  • Bass: Low shelf, +-13dB at 80Hz.
  • Mid Bands: Adjusts mid-range frequencies with +-13dB at 250Hz, 500Hz, 1.5kHz, 3kHz.
  • Treble: High shelf, +-13dB at 5kHz.

Specifications

  • Dimensions:
    • Width: 125 mm (5 inches)
    • Length: 96 mm (3¾ inches)
    • Height: 57 mm (2¼ inches)
    • Weight: 430g (0.95 lb)
  • Power:
    • The pedal requires a 9V DC regulated adapter with a center-negative plug.
    • The unit draws 400mA.
    • Warning: Using an unregulated power supply or higher voltages may result in noise issues or damage, voiding the warranty.

Input & Output Options:

  • Input: Connect your instrument or pedalboard output to the ¼” mono jack.

  • Aux Input:

    • 3.5mm stereo input to practice with backing tracks from devices like smartphones or laptops. The volume level must be controlled from the source device, and it works only with the headphone output.
  • Headphone Output:

    • Internal stereo headphone amplifier capable of driving a minimum load of 16 ohms through the 3.5mm stereo jack. Use the Master volume control to adjust the headphone level.
  • Output:

    • Connect from the ¼” output jack to the amplifier or other effects pedals.
  • Direct Output:

    • Balanced XLR output for connecting to preamps, PA systems, etc.
  • Ground Lift:

    • Disconnects the signal ground on the Direct Output to reduce noise by breaking any ground loops.
  • Cab Sim:

    • Select between 7 cabinet simulations for the XLR output, accessible via the Character knob.
  • USB:

    • A USB-C connector allows you to load cabinet simulations (IRs) and control various settings via PC or Mac.

Boost Pedals

A boost raises signal level without deliberately creating a new effect waveform. Clean boosts emphasise level and headroom, while coloured boosts reshape bass, midrange or treble and may add mild clipping at higher settings. Placed before a gain stage, the extra level changes how that stage distorts; placed later, it can provide a volume lift if sufficient headroom remains.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar Pedals is a useful category for players looking to shape their guitar or bass sound in a more focused way. Products in this area can help with tone, control, routing, performance or creative sound design depending on the exact type of gear involved.

For anyone building a pedalboard, guitar pedals options can help fill a specific gap in the signal chain or open up new sounds that are difficult to achieve with an amp alone. They are worth exploring when you want a more personal, flexible and practical setup.

Boost

Raises signal level and may also reshape the frequency balance before the next stage. A clean boost preserves the waveform until headroom is exceeded, while coloured designs emphasise particular frequencies or add mild clipping that changes how later gain stages respond.

Guitar Pedal

Guitar Pedal pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Many players build pedalboards gradually over time, combining different effects and utilities to create a setup that suits their own sound and workflow. Guitar Pedal related gear can play an important role in both live performance and studio recording.
