The Darkglass Alpha Omega is a co-designed creation between Darkglass and the legendary composer producer and bassist; Jon Stockman. Differing greatly from other Darkglass preamp and overdrive units the Alpha Omega utilises OP-amps and features two unique distortion circuits. Alpha provides a punchy tight sound with a huge amount of definition. Omega on the otherhand is brutal and raw and packed with power. These can be selected or blended using the Mod control knob. With this inventive control alongside the Growl and Bite toggle switches and the high-quality three-band active EQ controls the Darkglass Alpha Omega is an insanely flexible unit.

Distortion Pedals

Distortion pedals create a heavier, more aggressive gain sound than most overdrive pedals, giving guitarists the sustain, bite and saturation needed for rock, punk, metal and hard-hitting lead tones. They can turn a clean amp into a high-gain platform or add an extra layer of intensity to an already driven sound.

Some distortion pedals are tight and modern, while others are raw, fizzy or vintage-inspired. Choosing the right one depends on whether you want chunky rhythm tones, singing sustain, scooped metal sounds or a classic hard-rock voice with plenty of attack.
