Description

This tasty Overdrive number is delivered to your pedal board. A tasty Overdrive and Fuzz that stands out amongst other Overdrive Pedals on the menu. Caroline Guitar Company make great Overdrive Pedals, so If you like Overdrive and Fuzz, then a Caroline Icarus 2.1 Overdrive Pedal is the perfect Overdrive to order in. The Icarus is a buffer booster and drive pedal built around vintage Soviet preamp flavour. Using a trio of simple controls—Gain Highs and Output—it delivers everything from a clean warm lift to fizzy harmonic crunch that edges into fuzz territory. Crank the gain and ride the output or dial it back for subtle push and sparkle. Its a surprisingly flexible little box with a whole lot of character. Inside discontinued Russian “unobtanium” diodes bring a unique bite and texture to the tone inspired by Carolines revered Parabola and Météore preamp sections. Theres also an internal switch to toggle between buffered and true bypass making it a perfect fit for modern pedalboards. And with up to +12dB of output boost on tap even with gain at zero itll happily slam your amp or stack with other drives. Its loud raw and a bit unhinged—in the best possible way.

Electric Guitars

Electric Guitars is a useful category for players looking to shape their guitar or bass sound in a more focused way. Products in this area can help with tone, control, routing, performance or creative sound design depending on the exact type of gear involved.

For anyone building a pedalboard, electric guitars options can help fill a specific gap in the signal chain or open up new sounds that are difficult to achieve with an amp alone. They are worth exploring when you want a more personal, flexible and practical setup.

Guitar Effects Pedals

Guitar Effects Pedals is a useful category for players looking to shape their guitar or bass sound in a more focused way. Products in this area can help with tone, control, routing, performance or creative sound design depending on the exact type of gear involved.

Overdrive Pedals

Overdrive pedals add warmth, grit and amplifier-like breakup to your guitar tone. They can be used as a light always-on tone enhancer, a bluesy crunch box, a mid-focused solo boost or a way to push a valve amp into richer saturation.

Different overdrive circuits have very different personalities, from transparent low-gain pedals to classic mid-hump designs and heavier modern drives. They are one of the most important pedal types because they respond to picking dynamics, guitar volume and the character of your amplifier.

Boost

Boost pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Many players build pedalboards gradually over time, combining different effects and utilities to create a setup that suits their own sound and workflow. Boost related gear can play an important role in both live performance and studio recording.

Buffered

Buffered pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Fuzz

Fuzz pedals create thick saturated distortion with a raw and highly expressive character that differs significantly from standard overdrive or distortion pedals. Vintage-inspired fuzz circuits remain hugely influential in psychedelic rock, doom, garage, shoegaze and experimental music.

Different fuzz designs respond very differently to pickups, guitar volume and playing dynamics, allowing players to move between smooth sustain, gated textures and aggressive spluttering tones.

Overdrive

Overdrive pedals recreate the sound of an amplifier being pushed harder, adding warmth, breakup and sustain while still responding naturally to picking dynamics and guitar volume changes. They are one of the most important and widely used pedal types in modern guitar rigs.

Different overdrive circuits offer very different flavours, from transparent low-gain boost-style pedals through to mid-focused classic rock tones and heavier amp-like saturation.

Preamp

Preamp pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Many players build pedalboards gradually over time, combining different effects and utilities to create a setup that suits their own sound and workflow. Preamp related gear can play an important role in both live performance and studio recording.

True Bypass

True bypass pedals route the guitar signal directly from input to output when the effect is switched off, helping preserve the original tone of the instrument when the pedal is not active. This became an important feature as pedalboards grew larger and players became more conscious of signal loss through long chains of effects.

Many boutique pedal builders and modern stompbox manufacturers use true bypass switching to keep the signal path as clean as possible. Some players still combine true bypass pedals with buffered pedals depending on cable length and the overall design of the rig.
