Multi-Effects Pedals
Multi-effects pedals combine several processing blocks—such as drive, modulation, delay, reverb, pitch and amp modelling—in one foot-controlled unit. Presets, scenes, USB, MIDI, expression inputs and direct outputs can make them flexible for live and recording work. Compare the internal signal path, the number of simultaneous blocks, editing method, latency and cabinet simulation rather than judging only by the effect count. Also check footswitch spacing, power requirements and whether the unit can integrate cleanly with an amplifier or mixer.

Amp Simulator
Amp simulator products emulate or model the gain, frequency response and dynamic behaviour of a guitar amplifier. Some are preamp pedals, while others include power-amp behaviour, cabinet filtering, impulse responses or direct outputs. Check whether the model expects a real cabinet, power amp, interface, PA or headphones, and whether its cabinet stage can be bypassed. Input level, output headroom and routing make a larger difference than the label alone.
Bass
Bass products are designed or voiced to retain low-frequency information and usable headroom with bass guitar or other low-register sources. Controls may centre on clean blend, low-end EQ, compression, crossover points or drive character. A guitar pedal can sometimes work well on bass, but it may remove the fundamental or compress the transient. Check the frequency response, input impedance, output level and dry-signal path with the intended tuning and amplifier.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth provides wireless control, audio or app connectivity; it does not necessarily carry the instrument signal through the pedalboard. Check the Bluetooth profile, range, latency, supported devices, pairing method and whether the feature works while the unit is processing audio. A Bluetooth-enabled pedal may use the connection for editing or playback only, so read the specification before relying on it as a live wireless link.
Presets
Preset-capable products can store and recall effect settings, signal paths or control assignments. The useful differences are the number of locations, whether footswitches or MIDI can recall them, what parameters are saved, how quickly they change and whether trails continue between settings. Check editing, backup, firmware, expression and USB requirements, and confirm that the preset system covers the parameters you need rather than assuming every control is recalled.
USB
Provides a Universal Serial Bus connection for power, audio, MIDI, firmware or editing data. The supported USB class and connector do not by themselves show its purpose; channel count, sample format, host compatibility and power demand define the actual function.
