Chorus pedals mix the dry signal with one or more short, modulated delays to create movement, width and gentle pitch variation. Rate controls the speed of the modulation; depth controls its excursion; blend, tone and stereo routing determine how prominent the effect becomes. Slower, shallow settings can add width without obscuring the note, while deeper settings move towards a seasick or synthetic wobble. Some designs use analogue bucket-brigade circuits, while others use DSP and presets. Check mono compatibility and headroom if the pedal will sit after drives or before a mixer.

Uses continuous analogue circuitry for some or all of the audio path, so clipping, filtering or modulation arises from physical components rather than sampled algorithms. Check the exact signal path.

Stereo

Processes, creates or passes two audio channels. True stereo preserves separate left and right inputs, while mono-to-stereo effects generate spatial differences internally; routing, phase behaviour and whether trails remain stereo determine the resulting image. Some outputs sum to mono when only one socket is connected, which can change level or modulation depth.
