The Electro Harmonix Bass Soul Food takes the original guitar focused Soul Food and adds in low end definition and punch to make it better suit a bass guitar. From a soft clean boost to a medium gain transparent overdrive this ‘Klon-like’ drive has been made from the ground up to work the best with lower frequencies.
Made For Bass
You may be forgiven for thinking that this is the same Soul Food circuit that just has a new cover, but this pedal is much more than just that. Control Your Drive
One problem that plagues most bass overdrives is that when you crank up the drive the treble goes up with it making a very fizzy sound. EHX have thought of this and have introduced a new set of controls so you can get the exact drive sound you want.
The Drive and Volume controls as you would normally expect. The Blend knob works to mix together your clean and overdriven signals together in whatever arrangement suits you best. Finally the Treble control is what everyone has been waiting for, with this you can easily dial in the amount of high end fizz you want. This control also means that you can get a great sound with a regular 6 string guitar as well.
