The Jim Dunlop CryBaby Bass Wah White is the first wah-wah pedal designed by bass players for bass players. It incorporates a new proprietary potentiometer and custom EQ circuitry specially optimised for bass frequencies. The pedal applies wah effects to midrange highs and overtones while leaving a strong fundamental to hold down the bottom. The CryBaby Bass Wah is used by Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers Rex of Pantera Danny Saber and more.

Wah & Filter Pedals
Wah and filter pedals emphasise or remove a moving part of the frequency spectrum. A treadle wah sweeps a resonant peak through the signal, while auto-wah, envelope and fixed filters use playing level, an LFO or a set frequency to create vocal, synth-like or cocked-wah textures. Q, sweep range, input loading, bypass type and placement all affect the response. Before gain, the filter determines which frequencies clip; after gain, it shapes the finished distortion. Check whether the circuit expects a direct guitar signal and whether the switch is mechanical, soft-touch or optically controlled.
