The full-sized MXR Carbon Copy delay pedal is considered by many as a modern classic. A pedalboard staple for many, this beautiful-sounding analogue delay is adored for its rich and warm repeats; only made possible with its old-school bucket brigade technology.

The MXR Carbon Copy Mini packs everything that we love about the standard pedal into a smaller and more ergonomic enclosure. But that's not all, as MXR has given it another trick up its sleeve! Boasting the same control-set as its full-sized counterpart, the mini version also has a 'Bright' switch that lets you access the more vibrant sounds from the Carbon Copy Bright pedal. Pretty cool, huh?

Simple Controls

MXR kept it simple with the original Carbon Copy. Instead of fitting their stompbox with fiddly and unnecessary controls, MXR decided to equip you with the absolute essentials, and the Carbon Copy Mini adheres to the same philosophy. This makes it very easy to dial in a fantastic delay sound anywhere and at any time (no pun intended).

The MXR Carbon Copy Mini's 'Mix' control lets you balance your dry sound with the wet delay, enabling you to set anything from a subtle solo thickener to a loud and engulfing ambient effect. 'Regen' allows you to dial in the amount of repeats, while 'Delay' affects their time. With 600ms of delay time on tap, there's plenty to play with!

The Carbon Copy Mini has also carried over the 'Mod' button from its bigger brother. Press this, and you'll add a sweet chorus-like modulation to your repeats, for that nostalgic '80s-style delay sound. The right-hand side of the pedal features the aforementioned 'Bright' switch, which adds more top-end to the repeats for a clearer and more articulate tone.

Delay Pedals

Delay pedals repeat your guitar signal to create echoes, rhythmic patterns and spacious textures. They can be used subtly to add depth, or more dramatically for dotted-eighth repeats, slapback rockabilly sounds, ambient layers and experimental soundscapes.

Different delay types offer very different characters, from warm analogue repeats to clean digital echoes and tape-style modulation. A delay pedal is one of the most creative tools on a pedalboard because it can support simple lead lines, fill space in a mix and completely transform a part.

Delay

Delay pedals repeat the guitar signal to create echoes, rhythmic patterns and spacious textures ranging from short slapback repeats through to huge ambient soundscapes. Different delay styles such as analogue, digital and tape-inspired circuits all produce their own character and response.

Delay is one of the most creative effects available because it can add depth, groove and atmosphere without overwhelming the original guitar tone. It is widely used across rock, blues, indie, ambient, progressive and experimental music.
