Based on the Holy Grail “1967-1968 Italian-built Clyde McCoy Wahs”, the XW-2 is a refined wah pedal design with an emphasis on “minimal controls with maximum tone”. With the Xotic XW-2 Wah you don’t get one or three sounds in one pedal, you get unlimited sounds with unique controls that shape and contour your sound the way you hear it!

The wah tone and EQ are dialed in to perfection making accessing the perfect wah sound easier than ever. With plug-and-play simplicity, you can achieve the finest wah sound that will truly elevate your creative ingenuity.

The pedal features custom wound inductor, pot and circuit which not only captures the pure essence of vintage Clyde McCoy (as XW1 did), but also breathes an evolved essence (of wah) that goes beyond vintage. As with the XW-1, the pedal has a relay-based true bypass switch and adjustable rocker tension to optimize your rocker pedal to your liking.

No matter what musical style needed, the XW-2 has a custom inductor and circuit that has been designed to produce a throaty like texture which delivers a rich and more modern sounding wah tone.

Wah

Wah refers to an expressive filter effect that sweeps through a range of frequencies, creating a vocal-like “wah” sound. Controlled in real time with a foot-operated treadle, it allows players to emphasise different parts of the frequency spectrum as they play. Wah pedals are commonly used for lead guitar, funk rhythm work, and expressive solos, responding closely to picking dynamics and foot movement.
