For the Fundamental Series, Walrus Audio have challenged themselves to design a set of pedals with the tonal integrity that’s required to live on a professional’s pedalboard, but with simplified controls friendly enough for even the newest effect pedal users.

Each Fundamental pedal has 3 sliders for tweaking the sound and a three-way switch for changing pedal modes. The result is a line of 8 pedals that will keep you covered from your first band practice, all the way to a sold-out arena.

Fundamental Reverb

The Fundamental Reverb provides you with the core sounds of ambient effects. With three reverb algorithms, you can go from ambient hall to an analog spring emulation, as well as a bright plate emulation.

Key Features

  • Three Reverb Algorithms – The slide switch allows you to change between 3 distinct Reverb algorithms:
  • Hall – Emulates the large sounds of an acoustic hall.
  • Spring – Emulates spring reverb commonly found in tube amps.
  • Plate – Emulates a smooth analog plate reverb.
  • Bypass Switch – Turns the effect on and off.
  • Bypass LED – Illuminated when the effect is engaged.
  • Trails Modes – Hold down the stomp switch when applying power to the pedal.

Specifications

  • Decay: Control the amount of wet reverberated signal that is fed back into the signal.
  • Tone: Control the amount of reverb decay time. Left is minimum and right is maximum.
  • Mix:  Control the mix of the effect and the original clean signal. All the way to the left is fully clean, and all the way to the right is fully Reverb.
  • Input Jack – 1/4-inch cable from the instrument.
  • Output Jack – 1/4-inch cable to amplifier.
  • 9v Jack – 9-volt DC, Center Negative, 100mA min.

Founded in 2011 by Brady Smith, the company quickly gained a reputation for creating pedals that offer a unique blend of rich, expressive tones and striking visual aesthetics.

Each Walrus Audio pedal is designed with meticulous attention to detail, often incorporating complex circuitry that allows for a wide range of sonic possibilities.

The pedals feature distinctive, hand-drawn artwork on their enclosures, making them visually appealing as well. Walrus Audio’s product lineup includes a variety of effects such as reverb, delay, overdrive, modulation, and more, and their pedals are widely appreciated by musicians for their creativity, durability, and superior sound quality.

Reverb Pedals

Reverb creates the dense pattern of reflections heard after sound enters a physical or imagined space. Room, hall, plate and spring models differ in reflection density, frequency decay and modulation, while ambient algorithms extend or transform the tail beyond natural acoustics. Decay, pre-delay, damping, diffusion and wet/dry balance define the apparent size, surface and distance of that space.

Acoustic

Voiced for the wider dynamics, strong transient detail and pickup characteristics of acoustic instruments. High input impedance, phase reversal, notch filtering and restrained processing help preserve body resonance while controlling piezo harshness and feedback. Balanced outputs may also carry the corrected signal directly to a mixer or interface.

Analogue

The signal is shaped by continuously varying electronic circuitry rather than being converted into a digital effect algorithm. Component choice, operating voltage and circuit tolerances influence headroom, noise, clipping texture and the small variations in response between designs.
