The NUX Solid Studio MKII is a compact, all-in-one amp and speaker modeller designed to deliver convincing valve-style tones straight to front-of-house, recording interface or headphones. With a full colour display, deep editing and dual IR engine, it is equally at home on a pedalboard, in a studio rack or dropped straight into a gig bag for fly dates.

Building on the original Solid Studio concept, the MKII adds a powerful TSAC-4K modelling engine, flexible routing and a USB-C audio interface, making it a serious solution for guitarists who want authentic amp feel without the hassle of miking cabs. Use it as a full amp modeller, a reactive front-end for your favourite valve head, or a silent practice and recording hub with headphones and backing tracks.

Next-Generation Amp and Cab Modelling

At the heart of the Solid Studio MKII is NUX’s TSAC-4K white-box amp modelling algorithm, delivering detailed simulations of classic preamp and power amp circuits. You can mix and match pre and power amp types, then pair them with dual, independent speaker IRs and virtual microphones for a tailored rig that responds like the real thing. With stereo CYBER IR technology and 1024-sample resolution per side, the feel and dynamics remain intact whether you are on stage or tracking at home.

Flexible Signal Routing for Any Rig

Solid Studio MKII is designed to drop into almost any setup. Run your guitar straight in and go direct to PA or FRFR speakers, or place it between a real amp and cab using the dedicated input and Through output to capture your own amp’s character into any speaker emulation. Independent AMP, IR, EQ and Ambience blocks can be freely reordered, letting you build anything from simple cab sims to complex stereo rigs, all saved to presets and recalled with a single footswitch press.

Deep Control with Intuitive Operation

The large 2.86 inch colour LCD and data entry dial make editing fast and visual, so you can tweak tones on stage without diving through confusing menus. Global settings include noise gate, EQ and independent levels for phones, aux in and outputs, helping you tailor the pedal to different guitars, venues and monitoring setups. With 128 preset slots and separate left/right IR memories, it is easy to organise sounds for multiple bands or setlists.

Ready for Recording and Silent Practice

Via USB-C, the Solid Studio MKII functions as a USB audio interface, letting you record directly into your DAW with your chosen amp and cab setup. The free Solid Studio MKII editor for desktop and mobile offers deep editing, IR management and firmware updates. A dedicated phones output and aux input make it ideal for silent practice with backing tracks, while ultra-low latency ensures a responsive, natural playing feel.

Key Features

  • Stereo CYBER IR Engine – Dual 1024-sample IR processing provides detailed, lifelike cabinet and microphone emulations in stereo, so your direct sound has the depth and realism of a properly miked rig without the stage volume.
  • TSAC-4K Pre and Power Amp Modelling – Independent pre and power amp simulations use NUX’s TSAC-4K white-box algorithm to recreate the behaviour of classic valve circuits, giving you touch-sensitive response and dynamic feel that reacts to your playing.
  • Four Flexible Effect Blocks – Dedicated AMP, IR, EQ and Ambience blocks with free routing order let you shape your tone precisely, from simple cab sims to fully produced stereo sounds with global EQ and spatial effects.
  • USB-C Connectivity and Deep Editing – Use the built-in USB audio interface for direct recording, firmware updates and control via the Solid Studio editor software or mobile app, making it easy to manage presets, IRs and detailed parameters.

Preamp & Amp Sim Pedals,

Amp and cab simulator pedals recreate the sound and response of guitar amplifiers, speaker cabinets and microphones in a compact pedal format. They are useful for recording direct, practising silently, running straight into a PA, or building a pedalboard that does not rely on a traditional amp.

Many amp and cab sims include different amplifier voices, impulse responses, EQ controls and headphone outputs. They are a strong choice for modern guitarists who need consistent tone at home, in the studio and on stage without carrying heavy amplifiers and speaker cabinets.

Preamp

Preamp pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Many players build pedalboards gradually over time, combining different effects and utilities to create a setup that suits their own sound and workflow. Preamp related gear can play an important role in both live performance and studio recording.
